Chapter 31: Problems
I ran inside the house and ran upstairs. I headed towards my father's room. I stopped at his door and pressed my ear against the door. I could hear my dad and Mary laughing inside and this made me angry. I moved back and knocked on the door as hard as I could."Dad!", I yelled.
The laughing stopped and I heard footsteps rushing towards the door. The door opened and my dad appeared. He didn't have his mask on, but he still wore his baggy clothes.
"Are you ok sweetheart?", he asked.
I rolled my eyes. "No! I am not o.k.! Because I just found out that I'm going to school now!"
I yelled in my dad's face so loud that I saw spit fly. My dad wasn't phased by this, but I did see his one eye twitch. My dad raised his hand and scratched the back of his head. He sighed and then Mary came over and stood next to my father with a worried expression.
"What's going on?", she asked, looking between my father and me.
I rolled my eyes again and crossed my arms over my chest. "You do remember what happened last time I went to school right dad? Right!", I yelled again.
Suddenly, I felt eyes on me. I felt someone watching and I looked over my shoulder and saw Uncle Pinhead, Uncle Michael, May and even Aunt Kirsty who was poking her head out the door.
I turned back to my dad and sighed. Great. I turned from my dad and looked back at Uncle Pinhead, who I knew came up with this idea in the first place. Uncle Pinhead was the brains in this family and always came up with plans and suggestions.
"Ashley?", Uncle Pinhead spoke.
I rolled my eyes at him and decided to say hell with this and go to my room. I took a few steps towards my room and before I could take another, a chain broke out and pierced through my hand. I let out a scream and fell to the floor as another chain broke out and sliced through my other hand. The chains held me down to the floor and usually, this would be the time where my dad would come in and try to help me, but he didn't. My dad just stood there beside Mary, watching.
"Don't you dare turn your back on me girl when I'm talking to you!", Uncle Pinhead yelled.
I groaned in pain and watched down as blood was pouring out of my hands. Pain was not only shooting through my hands, but throughout my whole body. Just then, Uncle Pinhead walked over towards me and bent down on his knees so that we were close to each other's face.
"Listen to me Ashley, and you better listen real good because I'm only going to say this once. You are going to school, and that's finale. Be thankful that your just going to school for that one week while your father and soon to be mother is gone away for their honeymoon. You understand?", Uncle Pinhead said.
I nodded without a word. I felt tears come to my eyes from the pain in my hands. I held my tears back and then, the chains disappeared and so did my wounds and blood. I let out a sigh and pulled myself up and rubbed my hands together. Uncle Pinhead didn't take his eyes off me. He looked like he was studying me and was trying to get into my head. Too bad, because I wasn't thinking clearly at the moment.
"Come down stairs with us Ashley; supper will be ready soon.", I heard May called over.
I stood up while still rubbing my hands. I looked at her and gave me a soft smile and shook my head. "No thanks; I'm going to go lay down for a while and....think things over."
I said the last part with venom as I looked down at Uncle Pinhead. With that said, I turned on my heel and walked towards my room. I opened the door softly and without turning around to see the others, I kicked it shut.
My room was dark and the only little bit of light that came in was the light from outside behind the curtain. I sighed to myself and now, my tears were flowing freely. I sighed and didn't bother to wipe them. I walked over to my bed and crawled on it. I slid under the covers and pulled the covers over my head. I turned over on my stomach and cried into my pillow for the rest of day.
I didn't know what time it was, but it felt like forever since I cried. I pulled the covers off and climbed out of bed. I walked into my bathroom and turned on the light. I looked into the mirror and saw how red my face was and how blood-shot my eyes were from crying. I grabbed a tissue and blew my nose a couple times. I threw the tissue away and began to wash my face. I washed it a couple times and grabbed a towel. I dried my face off and with that done, I hung the towel back up and walked out of the bathroom.
He he he.
I stopped and froze. I looked around the room wondering who was in here. Someone had laughed.
"Uncle Chucky, your better not be in my room!", I nearly yelled. I walked over towards the door and switched on the light. Lightness shown in my room and I had to blink a couple times to get my vision straight. I scanned my room. No one was here. I got down on the floor and looked under my bed. There was no sight of no one.
I got back up on my feet and walked over to my closet. I opened the door and turned on the light. Nothing was in there either. I narrowed my eyes and shut the door.
"Who the hell is in here?", I called out.
No answer. I wasn't really expecting an answer anyway, I was mostly expecting for someone to show themselves to me. Funny, and I could of sworn I heard a little girl giggle. Maybe my mind was playing tricks on me. Yeah! That's it, my mind was playing tricks on me especially after many hours or crying. Maybe I needed a nap and maybe that would refresh my mind, but I didn't feel tired. Maybe a walk or a bite to eat would help or something. I don't know, anything would help to get me out of this room. I been in here too long.
I walked over to my door and walked out. I shut the door behind me and walked over towards the stairs. I walked down and walked down the hallway that led straight into the kitchen. Aunt Esther, Aunt Tiffany and May were the only ones in here while I assume everyone else was in the dining room as I heard voices and laughter. May was the first one to see me and she got up from the kitchen table and smiled.
"Were making seafood gumbo Ashley. I hope your hungry because it's just about done.", May smiled.
I rubbed my arm. "Yeah, sounds great."
Aunt Tiffany was at the stove, stirring the gumbo in the big pot. I walked over to her and rested my chin on her shoulder as I looked down into the big pot. It smelt really good and I could see pieces of shrimp, lobster and scallops inside mixed in with red sauce.
"Hey sweetie, I heard what happen. Are you ok?", Aunt Tiffany asked.
I took my chin off her shoulder and nodded. "Yeah, I'm o.k. Just a little exhausted and stressed out."
"Stressed out about what?", she asked.
I walked over towards the kitchen table and took a seat beside Aunt Esther. I sat back in the chair and ran my fingers through my hair.
"Ashley?", I heard Aunt Tiffany ask.
I turned to her with a raised eyebrow. She was waiting for my answer from earlier and I really didn't feel like talking.
"What are you so stressed out about hun?", May cut in.
I sighed. "Everything."
May gave me a confused face, but Aunt Tiffany and Aunt Esther understood where I was coming from.
"I guess one of them is the wedding right? And the honeymoon thing that's stressing you out?", Aunt Esther asked.
I nodded.
"And the thought about school coming up is stressing you out also?", Aunt Tiffany spoke.
Again, I nodded. I didn't feel like talking about it anymore, so I stood up and without a word, I walked out of the kitchen and over towards the office room. I decided to get on the computer and just play around on it. I walked down the hallway that led to the office and I walked in. I gasped as I saw someone already on the computer and it was Uncle Freddy. Uncle Freddy looked from the computer and over towards me.
"Oh, hi uncle Freddy.", I smiled.
"Hey kiddo.", Uncle Freddy replied.
I smiled. Uncle Freddy, besides Uncle Michael, Uncle Boogey and Uncle Jeepers Creepers, was by far my most favorite uncle. Uncle Freddy and I were they type that acted like brother and sister and picked on each other and would always tease other on who was the best fighter and by far the most scariest, even though we all know the winner was Uncle Freddy himself. I walked over towards Uncle Freddy and wrapped my arms around his neck from behind.
"What you doing Uncle?", I asked.
I looked down at the computer screen and saw pictures of knives. Some looked dull and some looked sharp.
"Nothing much, just thinking about whether I should get some new blades or not. I'm thinking about making myself a new glove because this one however is getting dull and I'm getting sick and tired of sharpening the damn thing every week after I get done murdering somebody.", Uncle Freddy sighed.
I smiled and lifted his arm up with the blade glove on it. I looked at his razor claws and saw that they looked sharp was stained with blood.
"If you do make a new one, can I have your old one?", I asked.
Uncle Freddy chuckled. "Sure, I'll give it to you when I decide to make a new one."
I smiled and thanked Uncle Freddy for that. I pulled up a chair and sat beside uncle Freddy as he continued to look at knives.
"I heard what happened earlier between you and asshole.", Uncle Freddy said.
I laughed. I liked it when Uncle Freddy cussed; they way he said them, just sounded funny. "Asshole? You mean uncle Pinhead?"
Uncle Freddy nodded. "Yeah, he said that you didn't want to go to school or something like that."
I nodded. "I don't see why I'm going to school for, especially when my dad is leaving on his honeymoon that week. I mean, what if something bad happens like last time? I mean I'm not worried about it, but I just don't want to go to school. I never went to school before except for that one day, so why should I start going to school now? School can't teach me nothing that you and the rest of the family that are already teaching me."
Uncle Freddy chuckled and reached his free hand over and rubbed my head. "You sure are right on that kiddo, but there is a reason why we are sending you to school. Pinhead came up with the idea and everyone thought it was a great idea."
"What are you talking about?"
Uncle Freddy sighed and logged off the internet. He turned his attention on me and said, "O.k., you know how long it's been since me and anybody else in this family has killed?"
I thought for a moment and nodded.
"Well, as killers, we're all thirsting for blood; we're all craving for blood. Ashley, we need blood and since there hasn't been anymore coming out to the woods to camp, our killing rating is decreasing. We all haven't killed people in a long time Ashley and we need to. So, Pinhead decided that with sending you and Glen to school, you guys can lure and bring home some friends of ya'lls and we kill them. You with me so far?"
I took everything in from what Uncle Freddy said and asked, "So, what your trying to say is that me and Glen are just going to school to bring home so kids so you guys can kill them?"
Uncle Freddy nodded. "Yeah, sound like a plan too you? And then, your real extreme training will begin and we will all teach you step by step how to kill the victim. We will teach you where to cut the victim and-"
"I don't need no more training Uncle Freddy.", I cut in. "I don't need to be trained how to kill somebody because that lesson is already done and over."
I remembered back to that night when I killed those teens back in the woods. How sweet that was and it was a perfect way to take my stress and anger out.
Uncle Freddy gave me a confused look and asked, "What you mean?"
"I was angry one night and I took my anger out one some teenagers who were partying back in the woods. There was about five of them the most. I killed every single one of them. If you don't believe me, you can ask Uncle J.C. for yourself because I'm sure he ate the remains of what was left of them."
I caught myself smirking as I said all of that to Uncle Freddy. Uncle Freddy on the other hand, seemed surprised and amazed by this. He looked proud.
"My goodness, my own little niece, all grown up and is already killing teens. Who could ask for a better niece.", Uncle Freddy smirked.
I giggled.
"DINNER'S DONE!", I heard Aunt Esther yell from down the hall.
I smiled and stood up from the chair quickly. Uncle Freddy shut the computer off and stood up from his chair also.
"What the hell were they cooking for dinner anyway? If it's shit I don't want it.", Uncle Freddy said.
I laughed and walked out of the room with Uncle Freddy following.
"I think Aunt Esther, May and Aunt Tiffany made it. It's seafood gumbo.", I called over my shoulder.
I heard Uncle Freddy's footsteps stop which made me stop. He gave me a stern look.
"Did you just say Esther, Tiffany and May made seafood gumbo?", he asked.
I nodded in confusment. "Yeah, why?"
"Esther and Tiffany together? Yup, that's going to taste like shit. I'm going back to my computer."
I laughed and watched as Uncle Freddy walked back in the office room. I continued walking and made my way in the dining room. Everyone was taking their seats and I walked over to my chair beside my dad and Uncle Pinhead.
I took a seat.
"Ashley, are you ok?", I heard my dad ask.
I turned to him. I was surprised he was talking to me out of the whole day for the first time.
I nodded my head at him and gave him a reassuring smile. "Yeah, thanks to Uncle Freddy for the laughs, I never been better."
My dad seemed confused by this as he tilted his head to the side. My dad this time, had his mask on and whenever he tilted his head to the side when he was confused, I always thought he was cute when he did that. I adored it when my dad did that.
"Ashley?", I heard Uncle Pinhead call.
I turned my head in his direction and saw him sitting straight in his chair. He was starring at me hard and his black eyes seem to sparkle.
"Yes?", I answered.
"I want to apologize for my behavior from earlier. That was unnecessary and very uncalled for. I hope you accept my apology and we will discuss matters afterwards after dinner. Is that reasonable with you?", Uncle Pinhead asked.
I nodded my head with a smile. "Yes that will be fine."
Usually, I wouldn't forgive Uncle Pinhead so easily after we have a argument. Uncle Pinhead was surprised at how I reacted to this. I suppose he was looking for a rude comment from me or the silent treatment. I just ignored Uncle Pinhead's confused stare and watched as Aunt Esther came around, fixing bowl's of gumbo.
I listened as Aunt Esther called for Uncle Freddy. "Freddy!", Aunt Esther yelled. "Dinner is done!"
I bowed my head and let out a giggle. I sensed my dad and Uncle Pinhead heard me as I felt their eyes on me.
"What's so funny Ashley?", my dad asked.
I remembered back to what uncle Freddy said about Aunt Esther's cooking tasting like shit. Then, before I realized it, Uncle Freddy appeared into the room. I watch him walk over to Aunt Esther's side as she was fixing Uncle Leather face's bowl.
"What the hell is that smell?", Uncle Freddy snarled at the soup.
"Seafood gumbo.", Aunt Esther replied. "And your bowl is already made over there."
"If it smells like shit then it taste like shit.", Uncle Freddy snarled.
I held in a laugh and just smiled as I listened to Aunt Esther and Uncle Freddy arguing back and forth. Everyone else who sat at the table just shook their heads in annoyance. I turned to Uncle Pinhead who was watching Uncle Freddy and aunt Esther argue.
"Uncle Pinhead?", I called over to him.
Uncle Pinhead cast his eyes over towards me. "Yes?"
"I'm not very hungry, but maybe we could talk now if your not going to eat?"
Uncle Pinhead stood still for a moment and then turned to his wife.
"Kirsty?", Uncle Pinhead spoke. "I'm going to go have a word with the child. When your finished eating, please wait for me in our room until I get back."
I watched as aunt Kirsty nodded her head. Uncle Pinhead turned to me and motioned his head back to the kitchen. I nodded and got up from my chair and followed Uncle Pinhead into the kitchen. I watch him walk over towards the back door.
"Come child, let's go for a walk and talk business."
