Chapter 33: Jeepers Creepers Feeds Again
I woke up with a smile on my face this morning. I opened my eyes and saw sunlight shining in the room. The sun was at it's highest peak in the sky from what I could see through the window. I turned over on my right side and looked over at the clock. It was nine o' clock. I threw the covers off of me and rolled out of bed. I walked to my bathroom and did my morning routine: shower, facial wash, do my hair and change into a fresh pair of clothes. Today, I decided to wear a pair of ripped skinny jeans with a graphic, pink Floyd t-shirt.I wore my hair up in a messy bun and once I got everything done, I tossed my dirty clothes in the dirty clothes basket, and walked out my room. I walked to the stairs and walked down them. I was greeted by Uncle J.C. who was just about to walk out the front door.
"Morning Uncle J.C.", I smiled.
Uncle Jeepers Creepers turned back to look at me and huffed. He wore his hat and his long black jacket. That meant one thing: hunting. I didn't understand though, I thought he was too weak to go out and hunt.
"Are you going hunting?", I asked.
He nodded in response and turned around to reach for the door knob. I quickly stopped him.
"Wait!"
Uncle J.C. turned to look at me with a confused look and I couldn't help but just sigh.
"I know your weak Uncle J.C., uncle Pinhead told me. You haven't been hunting in a while; you and Uncle Vorx both! Uncle Pinhead told me that plan about me going to school and all and I understand."
Uncle J.C. hissed in response and went to reach for the door again. I stopped him.
"Wait! Look, your weak Uncle J.C. and I can see that. You and I both know your not going to make it out there by yourself. Why don't I come with you and help you? I can drive; I can drive you to where ever it is that you feed at.", I said.
Uncle J.C. starred at me for a moment and then huffed. He moved to the side and motioned with his hand to let me go out the door first. I smiled, but stopped. I forgot the car keys.
"Let me go get the car keys o.k.? Wait for me in the car."
Uncle J.C. nodded in agreement and I watched him walk out. I hurried back towards the kitchen where the keys were. Aunt Esther was the only one in the kitchen and she was making breakfast.
"Good morning Aunt Esther.", I smiled, rushing past her and heading towards the counter. I opened up the first cupboard and scanned through the keys in the basket.
"Morning sweetie. How did you sleep?"
I nodded, while searching for the right pair of keys. "Alright and you?"
"Ha, your Uncle Freddy tried sneaking into my dreams, but I woke up just in time before he did ha ha.", Aunt Esther laughed.
I smiled, thinking of Uncle Freddy. My smile grew wider as I saw the van keys that I was looking for. I pulled them out and shut the drawer closed.
"What you doing Ash? Are you going out?", Aunt Esther asked worried.
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm taking Uncle J.C. out to feed. He's weak to go out their and hunt by himself so I offered to go out there with him."
"That's very sweet of you hun, but what about breakfast?"
"I can stop and get something from McDonalds or whatever."
"Actually...here."
Aunt Esther pulled out a paper plate and filled it up with scrambled eggs, toast, sausage links, and cheesy grits. She handed the plate to me and I thanked her. I wrapped the plate with some plastic wrap and grabbed a plastic fork to go along. With the keys in my hand and my plate, I began to walk out.
"Thanks Aunt Esther, and if dad asks, can you tell him I'm out with Uncle J.C.?"
Aunt Esther nodded. "Sure hun. Just be safe and make sure you stay with your uncle because I don't trust those people out there."
I nodded my head and walked out the kitchen and headed straight towards the front door. I slipped on a pair of shoes and quickly walked out. After I shut the door, I walked off the porch and headed towards the garage. The garage door was open, thanks to uncle J.C. I walked in and walked over towards the van. I opened the door and got in the driver's seat. Uncle J.C. sat quietly in the passenger seat and watched me as I got everything situated out. I sat my plate of food in the back seat and made sure it was secure enough so it wouldn't fall off.
I heard Uncle J.C. hiss and I looked over to him as he pointed to his wrist. He was motioning to me that time was wasting. I rolled my eyes at him and stuck the keys into the ignition and started the engine. I put the van into reverse and drove off.
I started out good. Usually when I was behind the wheel, I was shaky; shaky because I was nervous. Just then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Uncle J.C. doing sign language.
Since when did you learn how to drive? You don't even have a driver's license.
I smiled. "Uncle Michael taught me how to drive and he doesn't have a driver's license either."
Uncle J.C. hissed and looked out the window. I was wondering why he was such in a bad mood, but I understood that he was hungry and maybe that was why, he was hungry.
It was so quiet in the van as I drove out of the woods and out onto the highway. I decided to lighten the mood and turn on the radio. Glen's favorite band, Shine down, was playing their song, 'What a Shame'. I smiled and turned up the volume. Uncle J.C. on the other hand, hissed in annoyance and turned the radio off. I sighed. Great, this was going to be one long ride.
I spent half an hour driving, trying to search for a corn field of some sort. The only fields I drive by were just plantations that belonged to the Amish. Within the next five minutes, I pulled up on the side of the road and shut the engine off. I sighed.
"We been riding for nearly an hour Uncle J.C. and there isn't a corn field no where.", I said.
Uncle J.C. hissed in response and slouched in his seat. I sighed again and turned the engine back on. When there was no car in sight, I pulled back up on the highway again and drove off. I didn't know what to do know or where to even take Uncle J.C. to feed. Another question that popped into my head was if Uncle J.C. as going to feed in a corn field, how would there be victims there that he could feed on? People just don't randomly walk into corn fields, you had to lure them in. Maybe that's what Uncle J.C. wanted me to do; maybe he wanted me to find a corn field and drop him off there and I would go off in search of teens to bring to him. Yeah, perfect plan.
"Uncle?", I asked, breaking the silence.
Uncle J.C. turned to me.
"If I find a corn field, would you like me to drop you off there and I can go off and find some teens to bring to you?"
Uncle J.C. gave me the look that I was crazy. He then huffed and started to do sign language.
I don't trust those teens Ashley. Besides, do you have any idea what would happen to you if I let you go off on your own in this state? You have no idea what your dealing with in this state.
I rolled my eyes and began to think to myself about what else was so bad in this state besides me and my family living here. My family should be the most feared ones in this state.
"Actually, I think the people that lives in this state don't know what their dealing with. I'm alright Uncle J.C. I know who I am and what I'm capable of doing."
Uncle J.C. hissed in response, but I just ignored him and continued driving. I continued passing by farms, fields and houses. No corn field though and I began to wonder if there was even a corn field around here.
Suddenly, I entered Cooperstown and saw little shops, gas stations and a few antique shops. I looked down at the gas level and I was running low. I had to pull up to a gas station. Suddenly, I did a U-turn and drove back to the nearest gas station I could find. I pulled up towards the gas tank and parked the car.
Uncle J.C. hissed violently at me and pulled his jacket up to hide his face. I almost forgot about Uncle J.C., but I just rolled my eyes and got out the car. I reached inside the glove department where Uncle Freddy's stash was. His wallet was full of hundred dollar bills and what I couldn't understand was how he got it. I mean he kills people in their dreams for hells sakes, why would he need money?
"I'll be back Uncle J.C and don't get your pantie's in a twist. I'm just getting gas.", I sighed.
Without re-moving his jacket from his face, I heard a low hiss which caused me to laugh. Uncle J.C. was being so childish, but I understood what position he was from not eating in a very long time. Before I pumped the gas, I walked into the station to pay for it. As soon as I walked in, the smell of coffee and bacon filled my nostrils. It smelt so good in here. I looked over towards my left to see a couple older men, sitting across from one another playing game of chess. On my left was the counter where you had to pay. Behind the counter stood a man who looked like he was in his mid thirties. He was six foot, broad shoulder, had jet black hair which was combed back and he wore a plaid shirt with blue jeans.
He gave me a friendly smile. I smiled back and walked towards the back of the store. I walked over towards the drink section. As I walked over to a section of bottled waters, I saw a glimpse of a girl being pushed on the floor by a group of over weight boys. There was two boys and one girl against the small petite girl that laid helplessly on the floor. I watched in amazement as I watched the small girl try to fight off the other three.
"I told you!", the small girl yelled. "Buzz off or my sister will come out here!"
The small girl looked like she was either fourteen or fifteen. Her hair was a long, dark blonde. Her eyes were brown and she stood, five foot four. The other three all stood five foot five and had the same facial features so I assume they must of all been brother and sister.
The over weight girl walked up to the small girl and pushed again, but this time, she pushed her into a rack of chips that fell over and she came down with it. I heard her let out a groan in pain as the others just laughed and began to walk away. I growled.
"Hey!", I yelled at them.
The three of them all stopped and looked at me. I stood before the small girl and extended my hand out to her. She looked at me as if I was crazy, but slowly took my hand and I helped her up. I helped dusted her off.
"Are you o.k.?", I asked her.
She looked at me and her eyes sparkled. She looked like she was about to cry. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment and I couldn't help, but feel sorry for her. She nodded her head without a word and turned on her heel to leave.
I was just about to call out to her until laughter erupted. I turned my head towards the three kids.
"Awh! The poor baby is walking away scared now!", the one girl called out. The two boys laughed as so did she.
Usually, I didn't jump into situations like this. Usually I would just watch people fight one another and get blood all over them from the punches being thrown and all. It was a amazing sight to watch people fight, especially when they were humans.
"Hey!", I yelled at the girl. "You got no right to push a girl smaller than you. What the hell is wrong with you anyway? This store ain't big enough for you or something?"
My anger was boiling and I felt that feeling crawl inside me. The same feeling I had that night when I killed those teens back in the woods. Maybe it was my killing feeling. Maybe I was ready to kill these people, but wait a minute. I couldn't kill them here. I was in the public and that would look very bad on my record.
"Who the hell do you think your talking too?", one of the boys asked. He was no bigger than his brother and sister. From where I could stand, they smelt like a big, musky bag of armpits and ass. The other brother, who wore a white t-shirt, had yellow sweat stains under his armpit area. The girl on the other hand had greasy hair, making it look like she didn't wash. Just seeing these three look and smell the way they do, made me want to vomit. Yet, these guys can pick on a little girl who is less twice their size and is actually beautiful and smells way more better than these three? These three bullies had something coming for them.
With one quick motion, I raised my hand and slapped the boy across the face. My hand burned from the smack, but it was worth it. I saw a red hand mark form on the boy's cheek and this made me smirk.
"Hold the hell up!", the girl said, stepping into my face. I pushed her back against the brother who was clutching her cheek. She fell on him and they both fell on the floor. The other brother who wore the white shirt, went to aim at me, but I quickly ducked out the way and watched him fall miserably on the floor. I smirked and turned back to the girl. I kicked her and the brother square in the stomach, causing them to wince in pain. I kicked the other brother in the stomach also to make sure he had the same pain as his two siblings.
"Whose the babies now?", I smirked. I kicked them all again, but in the face this time.
Just as soon as I was about to leave, I grabbed a cold bottle of water and made my way over towards the cash register. The man behind the counter has a pair of headphones in and was reading a book. It was no wonder why he didn't come to the back of the store to stop all the commotion I was causing. He saw me and quickly snatched his head budds out of his ear.
"I'm sorry ma'am.", he apologized and then scanned my water.
"Fifty bucks for gas.", I replied and handed him a hundred dollar bill.
He nodded and typed in a few keys on his register. The cash drawer popped open and I watched as he snatched out my left over money. He handed me my change and water.
"Have a good day ma'am.", he smiled.
"I will. You do the same."
I walked out of the store and walked over towards the van. I suddenly forgot all about Uncle J.C. as I saw his shadow in the passenger side. He still had his coat drenched over him. I giggled and began to pump the gas. I stood there was a couple minutes until I heard the store door open and the three bullies came out, clutching their stomachs. I laughed.
My laughter caused them to look over at me. They had angry expressions and they all came walking over towards me.
"Well well well, this sure is a nice van you got here.", the girl smirked, rubbing her hands on the side of it.
"Sure is, but it's not mine.", I smirked.
"Who's is it? Your mommys?"
The girl uttered a sarcastic laugh and her two brothers came over and joined in. I just watched them as I continued pumping the gas. I thought of Uncle J.C. and how hungry he was. Then it occurred to me that, Uncle J.C. is going to get what he wants. The three siblings are both chunky and have lots of meat on them for Uncle J.C. to get a filling from. Maybe I did something right, but the problem was, how was I going to get them in the van without hurting them? Then I realized I was out in the public so I couldn't use a cane to knock them out and stuff them in the back seat.
"Where you three headed to anyway?", I decided to act nice. Maybe if they needed to get somewhere instead of walking, I could give them a ride; a ride to hell which is.
"Our house is five miles from here so, but I think walking would do us fine.", the girl snickered.
I smirked. "By the size of ya, you look like you wouldn't make it five miles."
The three siblings gave me a deadly glare and I couldn't help but smile as I knew I hit a nerve.
"Ok I'm sorry, but at least let me give you a ride. It's the least I can do to apologize to you guys for my behavior in there and for jumping into something that I shouldn't have."
I didn't know what else to say, but I just hoped this would work. The three siblings looked at me as if I was crazy. They all exchanged looks with one another and then, the sister nodded her head at me.
"Just drop us off at the next gas station and we'll walk on home from there.", she replied.
I nodded my head with a smile. Perfect. Uncle J.C., looks like you'll be getting something to eat now.
Once I was done pumping the gas, I closed the tank top up and walked over to open the door for the three siblings. I saw my plate sitting on the chair and I forgot all about it. I quickly got it and sat it in my seat. Uncle J.C. on the other hand, who must of heard me, took a peak over at me and the three siblings from behind me. His eyes grew wide with shock. I smirked and while the siblings weren't paying attention, I quickly mouthed to Uncle J.C. saying, "Your food is served."
He got my meaning and nodded his head. He hid his face back under his jacket and I slowly moved out the way for the siblings to get in. Once they were fully in, I closed the door and began to walk to my side. I smirked. Perfect, just perfect. I opened my door and got in. I sat my plate of food on the floor next to a box of tissues. I turned to Uncle J.C. and smirked.
"Uncle? I'm going to be dropping off the three kids at the next gas station o.k.? Then we can go home.", I smiled at my uncle who was covered in his jacket. I heard him groan in response as he got my plan. I turned back to the others and smiled. They returned it.
I started up the engine and was now on my way to the next gas station. I was smirking the whole way as I pictured the three siblings being eating one by one by Uncle J.C. At first I pictured the horrible, torturous things Uncle Jeepers Creepers would do to them to make them feel the pain and to get them warmed up for the big thing.
It past five minutes and I saw a tall sign with the words, Wilco on it. It must be the gas station they were talking about. I put my foot on the gas a little harder and I was driving past the speed limit. I drove seventy miles per hour this time. We past the gas station and I heard a few gasps from the back seat.
"Hey! You just past the station dip shit!", I heard he girl yell.
I smirked. "Your not going home."
"What?", I heard one of the brothers snap. "What the hell do you mean?"
"Your not going home. Your going to hell, my Uncle's hell."
Suddenly, I heard a hiss and Uncle J.C. came out from under his jacket. He turned from me and looked at the three siblings in the back. I heard gasps and this caused to Uncle J.C. hiss even more. Before I knew it, Uncle J.C. flew in the back and began to feed. Screams broke out in the van, and within a couple of minutes, all I could heard was lip smacking and shuffling come from the back. Uncle J.C. finally fed as I could see from the review mirror. I saw blood splattered all over the windows and a few pieces of shredded skin glued on the windows.
"Damn Uncle.", I sighed. "Now we gotta wash the car before Uncle Freddy and Uncle Michael throw a fit."
