In the forest seen in chapter 2, when Leo nicknames Linda "Lin", it is representative of a new beginning. What is that beginning? You'll find out later. But if you pay attention because some characters have an asset to their name, such as Leo meaning bravery, and Linda meaning weakness. When Leo nicknames her, it symbolizes fear and weakness turning to strength, as Lin means "Forest", or "home", and See More putting your fear aside to be brave for those around you.
As for Martin, why not give the lead role in a story of revolution to the person who's name means "one to start a revolution" or "stand up for what's right"
