HOWEVER. he only did that as a strategic move. he told the confederate states that if they stopped their secession, he would let them have their slaves. luckily, those dumbass idiots didn't take lincoln seriously and thought he was bluffing, so they remained See More seceded. as a result, lincoln took away their slaves and gave them rights as human beings. was lincoln opposed to slavery? yes, of course! that much is true. but he never fought for their rights. he only used them as a chess piece in his game of war. if the confederate states agreed, then black people would've been enslaved for god knows how long. stop thinking that this man was our savior. yes, he helped us, but if it weren't for that war, black people would've suffered longer. silence is violence.
