i feel like a lot of black ppl’s identities are invalidated or shunned because they act “too white”. NO ONE ever talks about it. bc of my lack of ebonics and my taste in music, i’ve been called “whitewashed” or “oreo”. it totally attempts to erase my being black. i’m nigerian-american and i’m proud of it!! not many black people get the privilege of knowing where they come from. despite that, i’ve been relentlessly taunted by other black people bc i don’t act a certain way. it’s See More extremely harmful. ik other races deal with it too, but it’s such an issue in the black community. just bc the BLM movement is going on, it doesn’t erase the preexisting flaws within the black community.
