Ambush from badgers?! (Chapter 19)
No one guessed when this day would come. Riverclan and Windclan came to help Thunderclan he rid of the badgers that attacked. Shadowclan had their own problems...Cinderpaw was trying to heal some cats that got injured in the ambush. Her sisters were fighting, of course. Brightflame had killed 2 badgers while protecting the Nursery while Blackfrost hadn't killed any, just injured them badly. Cinderpaw had clawed a few cats that had rebelled against their clans to join the badgers. While she was running around in the camp trying to spot anymore injured cats she didn't notice that someone was behind her, about to attack when suddenly someone shouted at her to look out. Cinderpaw turned around in confusion only for her eyes to widen. Before she knew it, someone jumped in front of her to save her. It was Hawkpaw! Cinderpaw's eyes widened even more she he turned to look at her to see if she was ok. When he turned around she saw all the scars that he had gotten when he was fighting the cat that was going to kill Cinderpaw. Hawkpaw did kill him though. "H-Hawkpaw... Are y-you alright?!" Cinderpaw gasped. "I'm fine." He replied as he turned to bump his nose to hers. If this fighting wasn't going on right now it would be romantic.
"I h-have to get you to the Med Den!" Cinderpaw insisted. "I said, I'm fine. But I will go for you." He gently smiled at her. She took him to the Med Den where Longpelt was. "I told you to only bring Thunderclan cats, Cinderpaw! Not Riverclan! They have their own Medicine Cats!" Longpelt exclaimed. "I don't care! He needs to be treated!" Cinderpaw hissed back at her mentor. Longpelt sighed and went to get some more herbs for Hawkpaw. Cinderpaw led Hawkpaw over to an empty nest so he could lay down and rest. His face was covered in blood and scars (like in the picture). After Cinderpaw tried to heal him Longpelt had to help her. Later once the battle was finished, Longpelt said that Hawkpaw could go back to his own camp. So he did.
~~ The Next Day ~~
After the battle from yesterday The Med Den was out of herbs. Cinderpaw went to go get some more when she was suddenly pinned to the ground. She knew it wasn't Hawkpaw since he wouldn't do this. So who could it be? "Hello there, Cinderpaw. Do you remember me?" A very familiar voice said. Cinderpaw gasped.
Cinderpaw stared at the cat.
It was...
DUKEPAW?!
He smiled at her. Cinderpaw easily shoved him off.
"Ow...look, Cinderpaw, I need your help!" She leapt to her paws with great elegance and grace. "Oh, yeah? Help with what?"
"Well..." He trailed off.
"You see, my sister had me spy on you to get dirt on you...but instead, I..." "UGH, DON'T TELL ME YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH ME!" "Uh...no...instead I saw that you're actually really cool and can help me with this problem I have." "Hmm..." Even though she was greatly confused and curious, one emotion ruled it all out: embarrassment. Now she was more than willing to help out, no matter what.
"Ok...I'll help!" Dukepaw smiled. "Yay, great! Thank you so much!" "Yeah, heh...no problem..."
~after much walling and cat montages later~
Dukepaw and Cinderpaw finally stopped walking after reaching...a twoleg's nest!
Cinderpaw turned to face Dukepaw. "You tricked me! You took us to the twoleg place! Kmow what! I never should have tru–"
Then she heard a meow and turned to the window.
Inside she saw two lovely cats. A pastel calico and a gray and white. The pastel calico had an innocent smile on her face, as the gray and white was playing with a kittypet toy.
"Kittypets...this has something to do with kittypets, doesn't it." Cinderpaw didn't even have to look at Dukepaw to know he was bidding. The pastel calico gasped.
"Oh my gosh, Dukey! You're back! Oh, and you brought a friend! Yaysies!" She tried to get out through the window, but failed. The other sighed and opened it for her. The calico smiled dorkily and dropped down next to them. She held out a paw towards Cibderleaf.
"Hiya! I'm Pasty! Who are you?" Cinderpaw looked at Dukepaw that can only be explained as 'loathsome'.
"Um...hi...my name's Cinderpaw." "Can I call you Cindy?" "No." "It's so nice to meet you Cindy, oh my gosh! Duke said he was going to bring a friend, but I didn't know shed be so pretty like you! Sis, come look at our new friend!"
"Omg, finally. Is Dukepaw FINALLY going to take us to the clans? It's about time!"
Cinderpaw turned slightly to face Dukepaw.
"Hope you don't mind, but we're bringing a few friends." Pasty's sister said casually, nodding at two other cats. One was an orange tabby tom, the other a white calico she-cat. "These are our friends! They, like us, are SO SUPER excited to join the clans!"
Cinderpaw completed her revolution and was now completely looking at Dukepaw. He faltered under her stare.
"P-please just help me take them back? Maybe ThunderClan will take them in...they always do..."
Cinderpaw's eye started twitching. "O-ok then..!." Dukepaw smiled. "Th-thanks so much, Cinderpaw!"
"I want you to know that I hate you." Cinderpaw told Dukepaw. Dukepaw chuckled nervously.
