Oh no... (Chapter 14)
One night while everyone was asleep, Cinderpaw was having a little dream. She woke up to find herself in a dark place with no stars. She knew where she was. She was in the Dark Forest. A cat came up to her and said, "Ah. I see you finally arrived.~" Cinderpaw didn't know who this cat was but from the voice she considered that it was female. "W-who are you?" Cinderpaw questioned the Dark Forest she-cat. The she-cat gave a breathy laugh, "Why, I'm Mapleshade, young one. I have finally gotten you to arrive." 'This 'Mapleclaw' cat is pretty confident if she thinks I'm staying. I'm not.' Cinderpaw thought. Mapleclaw then sighed in a loving manner. "You were my favorite in that litter." Her attitude changed from confident to sad. "I wish I could've helped my kits when I had the chance..." Mapleclaw trailed off not wanting to bring any tears. Cinderpaw felt pretty bad for her. 'Did she have kits at one point when she was alive?' Cinderpaw thought with a sad/concerned/thoughtful face. "Brightpaw and Blackpaw don't deserve to be your sisters, Cinderpaw. I saw what they done. How they hurt you throughout the years. Physically and emotionally." Mapleclaw hissed quietly snapping Cinderpaw back to reality. "W-what do you mean?" Cinderpaw asked the older she-cat. Mapleclaw didn't answer as another cat came into view."Now who is this, Mapleclaw?" A tom asked Mapleclaw, glaring at Cinderpaw making her slightly cower. "This is Cinderpaw. The she-cat I was talking about the past few years." Mapleclaw replied to the tom like it was an everyday thing. 'A FEW YEARS?!' Cinderpaw's thoughts were everywhere. "Nice to meet you, young one. Hope you can train better unlike the rest," The tom said to her. "Introduce yourself! Have some manners!" Mapleclaw growled at the tom. "Whatch your tongue Mapleclaw I can still kill you," The tom hissed at Mapleclaw then turned to Cinderpaw. "I'm Tigerstar. The ruler of the Dark Forest." Cinderpaw knew she reconized him from somewhere! All the elders told the kits about how evil he was and how he almost killed his leader.
Cinderpaw was taken under Mapleclaw's wing. Mapleclaw stated that if something bad would happen to Cinderpaw, she would be there to stop it. "So how are you doing, young one?" Mapleclaw asked Cinderpaw when she came back for another night. "Why am I here again?" Cinderpaw asked her. "Because I took a liking to you and thought you would be good use to the Dark Forest," Mapleclaw said then she lowered her voice at the last thing she said. "Please stay Cinderpaw. I need you. You're like one of my own." Cinderpaw immediately felt bad and agreed that she would stay.
Tigerstar was walking with Hawktalon when he saw the two females. "Now what's going on here?"
" I just convinced Cinderpaw to stay!" Mapleclaw shouted happily. "Oh, so you're Cinderpaw?" Hawktalon asked her. "Y-yes." Cinderpaw answered. "Nice to finally meet you. I'm Hawktalon. One of Tigerstar's sons." "Yeah, yeah! She doesn't wanna talk to you! What she wants to do is let me show her around!" Mapleclaw snapped at Hawktalon making him growl at her. 'Why are they like this?' Cinderpaw thought to herself.
After Mapleclaw showed Cinderpaw around and introduced here to everyone, it was time for Cinderpaw to wake up. 'Maybe staying in the Dark Forest wasn't such a bad idea. Their so nice. Why are they mistreated?' Cinderpaw asked herself as she started to wake up.
