And the the sun was high,
A kit so lonely it hurt her soul
Would mourn and sigh and purr and growl.

Hawkpaw sang with all his heart. Cinderpaw blushed. "You wrote that for me?" She asked. He nodded. "Because you're worth it." She blushed again. "Well it's wonderful." "Thanks." He said, beaming. Without thinking, she rested her head on his shoulder.

Hawkpaw and Cinderpaw sat on the ledge overlooking the dangerous water as they did almost everyday. Cinderpaw had a distressed look on her face. "I know it's upsetting, but please relax?" He said, though it came out more as a question.
"Well it's weird, ok?" "Ok, tell me exactly what you saw."
"What I saw? I saw my sister and Foxpaw mooning at each other! They're obviously in love." He took her paw.
"And we're not?" She blushed.
"I dunno..." He looked at her. She kept her eyes on the water, but eventually gave in and looked at him. She sat down next to him.
"I... I think I love you..." She said. He smiled.
"Well I know I love you. Do you know if you love me?" She smiled confidentially.
"Yes. Yes I do."
"I love you with all my heart."
