Some Explaining To A Little Someone (Chapter 12)
Cinderpaw was sitting in the moonlight on the cliff over the deepest part of the lake where she almost drowned as a kit. 'Why is this happenings to me? Why do you hate me Starclan? WHY ARE THINGS HARD?' Cinderpaw thought. "What are you doing up here?" Hawkpaw said from behind Cinderpaw, startling her a little. "No reason at all... I'm just getting hated on from my sisters now. I accidentally stirred up bad flashbacks for one of my sisters. They have to remember that they weren't the only ones with bad pasts... Even my mother hates me now.." Cinderpaw explained. "I'm sorry." Hawkpaw apologized. "No, no don't apologize. It isn't your fault." Cinderpaw told him. Hawkpaw wrapped his tail around Cinderpaw's shoulders. She glanced over at him, "hmm?" "Nothing." He told her. "So you said they weren't the only one's with bad pasts? What was yours?" Hawkpaw asked her."Well.... It was when we were kits and a cat named Nightstep was in Thunderclan...." Cinderpaw then explained everything that happened that night. "Wow... You almost drowned while Blackpaw had her mother exiled and Brightpaw had nothing happen to her.... That's messed up." Hawkpaw said trying to calm himself down from the anger that was rising up within him. "How bout I walk you home?" Hawkpaw asked Cinderpaw. "Is this becoming a habit of ours?" Cinderpaw gave a short laugh as she said that. "Must be." Hawkpaw smiled.

When the two reached Thunderclan camp Hawkpaw was immediately flocked by Brightpaw, Blackpaw, and other female apprentices. Hawkpaw didn't like any of them except for one. And that was Cinderpaw. Of course, he wouldn't show it yet, but he would give little hints sometimes. Eventually Hawkpaw had to leave so he said goodbye to Cinderpaw and left. Cinderpaw had some bad flashbacks up at the cliff. She avoided her sisters and mother for the rest of the day. She only talked to Longpelt, Fallentail, Brackentail, or Goldeneyes. She started to become isolated from the rest of her family
