Love is from the stomach
The pub is just like the rest of the shops in the town. Sapphire relaxes against her own will and her friends dust off themselves off as they walk into the building. The other patrons give Surge a glance and then turn back to their own business. They don’t even spare the others a look, which is favourable at the moment. The five head to a booth to sit whereas Surge goes towards the bar at the front of the pub. Surge orders them two trays of chips and gets himself a burger. After eating chatting to her friends like old times Sapphire feels happy, relaxed and grateful. Her friends share her feelings as they sit in happy silence munching on the grub. Soon enough Sapphire meets Surge's eye once again. She turns back to her friends."I don't get him" Maria says adding some ketchup to her chips. "He could kill us at any second, he has before, yet he's being so nice to us." Crimson shakes her head.
"No" She says taking another handful of chips. "He's nice to Sapph" Everyone looks at the girl who’s just dunking her chip in the ketchup pot.
"Nah, he's not" She dismisses them and nibbles on her chip. "Maybe we should thank him though" She stands and makes her way over to the bar and this time, her friends don't try to stop her.
At first Surge doesn't acknowledge her and carries on eating. She sits in awkward silence.
“Finish eating?” He asks taking another bite out his burger. Sapphire nods.
The waiter hands him a bottle of water.
“Want a drink?” Sapphire nods again glancing at the sign above advertising lemonade. The waiter seems to notice her, since he grabs another glass from the far away end of the bar and hands it over to her.
“Thank you,” Sapphire says. That seems to take the waiter aback for a few seconds before he smiles and nods. Sapphire takes that as a good sign. Surge had reacted a little similarly whenever she thanked him. Was no one polite around these areas?
“Food’s good, yeah?” he asks. Sapphire nods.
“Told ya it’d be a shame to pass this up,” he says, “Of course, this is the only restaurant in town, so when you remember to eat, I guess you’ll be dropping by here.”
“We’re not staying.”
“Hm?” Surge looks at them the same way whenever they say that.
“We’re still going home,” Sapphire repeats once again. She clenches her hand, “We are.”
“We?” Surge leans back a bit to look at the four chatting in the booth, “You and your little friends?”
“Yeah,” Frisk nods. Surge turns back to Sapphire.
“You working on setting people free here too?”
“Ugh?”
“Don’t you know? They don’t like it here! They just want to get away, they are forced to kill Mobians because of our god who…” Surge trails off and taps his fingers on the bar.
“What about you? Don’t you want to get out too?” Sapphire asks resting her head on her hand.
“Heh,” Surge returns to eating his fries, “Sure do, darlin’. Why do you think we’re on a hunt for Mobians?” Sapphire tilts her head in confusion. Surge waves a hand,
“Finish your drink, darlin',"
