Freedom (Chapter 14)
~~Tay's P.O.V~~I muttered a prolonged curse as Lyna entered the wretched Punishment Den. I prodded Kyro awake and tried to avoid eye contact with Lyna. I thought it would be the usual. Lyna would walk in, drop off the food, then apologize and leave. But no. Today was different. Lyna padded in, dropped off the food, then left without apologizing. Kyro and I were confused. This never happened. Maybe Lyna just got tired of apologizing when she knew I wouldn't forgive her? Maybe Lyna had enough and just stopped? Maybe she thought we'd never be friends again?
But a part of me missed the apologizing. A part of me wanted to be her friend again. Should I apologize or is it too late?
~~ Lyna's P.O.V. ~~
I gave up on apologizing today. It's been about a month or so and Tay still hasn't forgiven me yet. Maybe we just weren't meant to be friends? Maybe we were supposed to be enemies? I don't know. But what I do know is that I'm still on good terms with Ina and Kuturo so I still have them, but after meeting up again with Maple yesterday I just couldn't focus on anything. My mind was everywhere. I can't believe that my old friend was still alive. It hurts to know that Maple and Beast had to go through the pain and suffering for all those months... Or weeks. I don't know how long they stayed in those labs. I hated that word.

Today Kuturo was going to let Tay and Kyro out of the Punishment Den. I don't know why though. They shouldn't be released, especially Tay. Who knows when her mood will change? At least Lyna has her other side under control. Tay just gained that side, so who knows what'll happen?
"I need all of your attention please," I heard Kuturo announce from the high-branch, the place where the leaders make announcements. "We are gathered here today because Tay and Kyro are being released from the Punishment Den today."
I heard everyone gasp in surprise at Kuturo's words. Lyna and I didn't gasp because Kuturo already told us about this. I could see the happiness in Tay's and Kyro's eyes when they heard the news. 'Tay shouldn't feel happy after not forgiving Lyna. After all, Lyna never meant for it to happen. So why couldn't Tay just forgive Lyna and stop being a bitch about it?' I thought. My eyes turned a light red, meaning I was sightly angry. I didn't notice it until Tiger, who sat beside me, quietly pointed it out. I sighed and made my eyes go back to their normal white. Kuturo then jumped off the High-branch and padded over to Lyna and I then talked like normal friends. Tiger had to go to hunt with a few others so he couldn't stay, but other than that today was fine.
