The Night

Avery's POV

The dance committee rushed around, putting on final touches, as it was a few minutes before the dance. Though I was (obviously) not looking forward to the dance, I have to admit it looked pretty beautiful.

Chryssie's streamers hung from the ceiling, with all the colors of the rainbow, as the dance floor pulsed with colors. The spotlights and the disco ball sent bright color everywhere. Color, color, color, that's what it was.

And then....it was time.

Cliff's POV

The bright lights shined on me like crazy, not helping with the apprehension coursing through me like a drug. Who knew what Kelly had planned? Who knew what would become of me?

GAHHHHHH.

Then it begun, and the gym filled with people. It was a blur of people, places, and sounds.

The first strum of the guitar vibrated thought stage, and it began.

Drum beats, lights, music, everything was electrified. I could feel the music in me, around me, everywhere.

Vaguely, I saw Kelly come in, with her group of high school friends. Oh. My. Gosh. That was her plan. For a second I faltered, but the music went on.

Thank you, Kelly.

Lexi's POV

It was brilliant, but something was wrong. Emma, Amethyst, the new addition of Ski, and I exchanged a worried look.

Avery's POV

I tried my best to forget about Aaron, at least for the night. I hung out with Emma, Lexi, Ski, and Amethyst.

"Wanna check out the snacks?" Amethyst asked. We nodded, and headed to the snack table, chattering.

The chocolate  fountain was amazing. Ryan and Cliff really WERE great with food! I reached to dip a strawberry in, not realizing that there was a pineapple chunk stuck in it, and not noticing Eva and her cronies giggling behind us.
