A Week In the Life

Matchmaking Part 2

Lexi's POV

I chuckled as Ian, Libby, Avery, AND Aaron all glared at us. Beckoning Amethyst and Emma over, we sat in the corner.

"This is going to be good." whispered Amethyst. Emma and I nodded, watching Avery and Aaron glare at us. Well some people were just ungrateful.

Ian, however, looked like her was about to do something!

Ian's POV

Emma, Lexi, and Amethyst had set us up. Great. But I might as well take the opportunity...right? Sure...

I walked up to Libby, feeling the sweat build up on my palms. Butterflies flapped in my stomach. Evil, menacing..butterflies. "Um...h-hey Libby."

Libby turned, in all her perfection. "Yeah?"

I took a deep breath and muttered, "WillyougotothedancewithmeLibby?"

Libby smiled wide, and I felt fireworks explode inside me. "Yes."

Then, she went up and hugged me. I stood there frozen, smiling like an idiot. I hugged her back, in a sort of bliss. She smelled like cinnamon and flowers..and was that?...Licorice.

Even Lexi, Emma, and Amethyst's "Aww!"'s couldn't ruin my room. Though I swear, I was going to get them someday.

Avery's POV

As I watched Ian and Libby, I couldn't help but feel envious. Why couldn't Aaron ask me to the dance instead of to play Band Hero?

Aaron walked over, and I felt the familiar tingle. Was he actually going to do it this time?

"Do you..."

Please please please please.

"...want to play Band Hero with me?"

I jinxed it.

AND we were at school! They didn't even HAVE Band Hero!

What was wrong with my life?!
