Lexi's POV

(Sky)

Wow...Aaron was...bad at this...

~Later~

Avery's POV

It was almost Dance Committee time, and I still felt horrible. This whole dance thing was ruining my life, and dread settled in my stomach as I walked into the cafeteria.

And Aaron didn't even say hi...

Lost in thought, I felt a finger tap my back.

I was Chryssie. "There's someone here who wants to be our DJ. Her name is Ski!" As we walked over, I saw an eighth grade girl with brown hair up to her shoulders and aqua eyes.

"Hi! I'm Avery." I shook her hand and she smiled. "I'm Skylar Woods. Sky."

Ryan walked over, holding the DJ sign-up sheet. "Er...it says your name is Ski."

Sky looked offended. "It's pronounced S-k-y not S-k-e-e! But it's written, "Ski."

Ryan raised and eyebrow. "Oook..."

Skylar scoffed haughtily and turned too me. "I would like to be the DJ."

I smiled. "Sure...Ski (S-k-y)."

She smiled back. "Nobody ever gets it right."

"I did!"

She laughed. "Wanna be friends?"

"Yes!"

And that's how the girl named Ski washed away my worries (at least for a while).
