Matchmaking Part 1
Lexi's POVI woke up on Wednesday with a smile on my face, as cheesy as it was. Today was matchmaking day!
After gurgling down a glass of milk and devouring a granola bar, I was on my way to meet Emma and Avery.
There they were outside, Avery looking down, and Emma badly concealing her excitement.
I eyed Avery. "What happened?"
Avery grimaced. "It was horrible! I kept on thinking Aaron was going to ask me to the dance, but he just...didn't."
"Well actually-" Emma started.
No! I thought. It has to be a surprise.
"Actually..." I jumped in. "We, we have something to, to cheer you up!"
"We do?" Emma whispered.
"Yes!" I hissed back.
To Avery I said, "Do you want to help us match make? It'll help you feel better."
Avery raised her eyebrows dubiously. "I doubt it will help, but fine. What do I have to lose?"
YES! I thought. Phase 1 complete.
Emma's POV
I suffered through first and second period, waiting anxiously for lunch. Finally, FINALLY, it was here!
I met Lexi at her locker, practically bursting with excitement. Amethyst was already there.
"Here's the plan," I whispered. "You convince Aaron and I'll go with Avery to find Libby, OK?"
"Yeah." answered Lexi. "Janitors closet?"
"Yep. And here's Avery." said Amethyst.
Avery walked over, still looking dubious and a bit sad. "So, are we going to find Libby?"
"Follow me." I said, prying this would work.
Aaron's POV
.
I sat with Ian and Cliff, eating lunch but not really hearing what they were saying. I was still angry at myself. I had so many opportunities to ask Avery to the dance yesterday! What had I done? Wasted EVERY SINGLE ONE of them.
"Hey Aaron!" Lexi's voice brought me back onto Earth.
"Um, Lexi?"
"So I need your help."
"Oook...?"
"Come here!"
I followed Lexi away from my friends.
"What?!"
"Well..." started Lexi. "We need your help."
"We...?!"
"Me, Emma, Amethyst."
"What do you want?"
"We need you to convince Ian to go to the janitor's closet with you."
"Why?"
"Because Libby will be there."
"Fine."
That was easy! I thought. "Ok, then do your thing."
Lexi's POV
Ten minutes later, I was herding Libby and Avery to the janitors closet, scared as heck with sweat beading in my palms. Either this worked or...
Failed.
Ian's POV
I entered the janitors closet, dubious and anxious to who would be there. Aaron and Emma had refused to tell me anything, and all I knew was Amethyst Brite was already in there. Who was that anyways?
We walked in, and it was just Amethyst. She had long brown hair and light blue eyes, but it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be.
Pretty anti-climatic if you ask me.
Then she walked in, and I froze, my mind reeling in shock, fear, and a bit of happiness.
Avery's POV
For a second I saw Ian and Libby's expressions and I smiled. It was just so sweet.
Then I saw him.
I curse Emma and Lexi to their deathbeds.
Aaron's POV
For a second I saw Ian and Libby's expressions and I smiled. It was just so sweet.
Then I saw her.
I curse Emma and Lexi to their deathbeds.
