Summer Camp Story

Privately

Blaze stood in the doorway of the cabin scowling her clipboard at her chest.
"Boys enough! Give those back to the girls now!" The whooping faded as did the squealing and yelling. The girls headed back into the cabin with Blaze as she studies her clipboard.
"Next step, I need your phones and electronics. The girls reluctantly parted with their things and handed them to Blaze.
"Now we are cut off from civilisation!" Trinty said dramatically.
"Yeah, cut off, apart from the computers and phones in the main building"  Wave snipped. "I don't know why you guys even bothered bringing your phones, I left mine at home."
"We can still email on Sundays right?" Amy asks as she put her phone onto Blaze's bed. The anxious tone in her voice was obvious.
"Yes, yes, same as always" Blaze reassures. A high pitched siren echoed through the cabin and everybody jumped. "From your reactions, I'm guessing the siren is new." Blaze said. "That means it's time for the cookout. You can all go down when your ready."
"Good" Wave said sourly. "I'm ready, come on Amy." She didn't even look at the other girls as she and Amy left the cabin. Electra, Victoria, Sapphire, Lilli, Yamilette and Maria stumbled back into the bunk, Sapphire carrying her suitcase and her bikini top in her fist.
"They're so immature" Electra said disgusted.
"At least we got everything back" Sapphire said.
"In return for a bribe, three of my precious cupcakes. Plus he had his own stash, the pig!" Soon the girls filed into the bathroom in twos and threes. Jackie put her comb away and smiled at Lilli's reflection in the mirror.
"It's really good to see everyone"
"What do you think of my hair?" Electra asks.
"Very sassy" Lilli said giggling.
"Do you think Amy changed anything? I don't remember getting any emails or texts from her" Electra asked examining the mirror.
"She must have been busy. I think she is the same" Jackie said.
"Her attitude is anyway" Electra grumped. "I didn't say that, I'm through talking about people that way. I really want to get along with her this year. Plus Wave" She turned towards the main room where Blaze was. "But is it okay to privately wish that they weren't in our bunk?"
"Privately" Jackie mumbled. "And privately? I wish the same"
"Me too" Lilli added. "Privately"
