Chapter 5
"Sally!"The tall skeleton caught the attention of the ragdoll, dragging you over to her location as she looks at you two in shock.
"Sally, look who I found in the forest! Her name is (Y/N), and I know you two will be very good friends!" He looks at you two with a big grin on his face, eye sockets filled with joy and hope.
You grin wide yourself as you stick your hand out to Sally. "Hello Sally, it is a pleasure to meet you!"
She smiles back, "Same. I assume you knew Jack before... arriving here?" You look down for a quick moment, but look back at her, then Jack.
"I, um, don't remember much of my previous life. Is... Is there something I should know?" You ask, suddenly appearing shy from their stares.
Jack and Sally look at each other for a quick second before Sally replies, "I think it's best you get used to your new life here before bearing the weight of your previous one."
What does that mean? You shake it off seeing as they didn't seem keen on talking about it right now.
"What was your previous life like Sally?" You ask curiously.
She looks away uncomfortably at first, but then looks back at you with a small smile, "I, uhm, didn't have a previous life. I'm an experiment of Dr. Finkelstein, a resident here."
"Oh, well that must be cool!" You try to cheer her up, as she seemed a little upset at the subject.
"Well-"
She was cut off by someone calling her name.
"SALLY!"
She flinched slightly, and muttered, "Speaking of which."
A bald old man in a wheelchair came strolling down the cobble street, wearing an angry expression. Once he reached you three he grabbed Sally's arm and pulled her down so her face was level with his.
"I told you to stop running away! When we get home I'm going to give you a huge punishment, worse than last time!"
He pulled her arm to make her follow, but she fought back and yelled, "I don't want to go back!"
Her fighting back only made him more angry, "I don't care what you want! You're my experiment, you do as I say! Now stop fighting and come with me!"
"Stop!"
Both Dr. Finkelstein and Sally stopped struggling and looked towards you, Dr. FInkelstein with an angry face, and Sally with a desperate one.
"She doesn't want to go with you! Listen to her and leave her alone!"
Dr. Finkelstein's scowl deepened, "Who are you and who do you think you are to tell me what to do?"
Although you were terrified, you stood your ground and replied, "Who I am doesn't matter, but I see that you are hurting her, physically and emotionally, and I won't allow that."
He laughs and replies, "And what exactly are you going to do about it?"
Jack steps in front you and crosses his arms. "I'll just have to use a little force."
Dr. Finkelstein's smug look instantly fell once Jack stepped in, and his once confident demeanor shrunk to a cowards tremble, "J-Jack, but y-you know she i-is m-my experiment-"
"That is no excuse to treat her so poorly, now let her go."
Dr. Finkelstein sighs and lets go of Sally's arm, then grumbles something under his breath and heads back to his home. But he briefly turns around and gives you a cold, unforgiving stare. Something told you that he was going to do something in the future for revenge, and you did not enjoy the thought.
