Chapter 4
As you walk through the gates you begin to sweat. You haven't had social interaction since as far as you can remember... which isn't very much, but still.Instantly all those thoughts scampered away as you saw the town square in its entirety. Gasping at the sight you step into the center and twirl around to see it all. It was absolutely breathtaking.
The buildings stood tall and crooked, the pumpkin shaped sun lighting the buildings in such a way that gave them an eerie aura. The fountain in the center, with its creepy, realistic statues and green fluid pouring down the sides sent chills up your spine as you swore you saw one of the statues eyes move to look at you.
The most astounding view of them all, however was the great town hall, in all of its creepy glory. It was all magnificent in your eyes, and what other people would have found a turn off, you saw charm. You could say it was love at first sight with this town.
Your smile only grew once you saw the townspeople going about their daily business. The Clown riding his unicycle and juggling to entertain the kids around him, the sea monster and the witches gossiping about the latest drama, the vampires strolling about with their umbrellas chatting about the delicious blood they drank earlier, and the mayor struggling to hold his papers about the plans he has for next Halloween.
Speaking of which, he seemed to be coming towards you and Jack. He was about to say something to you two but he dropped all of his papers by accident.
"Oh, shoot." He began to bend down to pick them up, but you picked them up and handed them to him before he could.
"Here you go mister." You say, placing them gently into his hands.
"Thank you miss-" He cut himself off realizing that he did not recognize you. You grew nervous, was he going to chase you out because you did not belong?
"I don't think I've seen you around here miss, it's not often we see visitors. What is your name?"
You were shocked, no questions on where you came, no questions on why you were here, not even a glimpse of suspicion crossed his face as he asked for your name, were all the people of Halloween Town this nice?
"(Y/N), sir. It's nice to meet you!" You say, rubbing the back of your neck in embarrassment from taking so long to answer.
A quick look of shock crossed his features but settled back into his usual smile, it was so quick you almost didn't notice.
"Well, (Y/N)! It's a pleasure to have you here! Make yourself at home!" And with that, he turned around and waddled away.
You forgot you were with Jack until he spoke out and said, "He's a nice guy, huh?"
You jumped a bit but quickly nodded your head. "Yeah, is everyone that nice here?"
"You bet, let me go introduce you to them!" And with that, he took your hand in his and dragged you along.
