"Friend"
Her heart was pounding out of her chest and was panicking on the inside, only having her side kick being the total opposite. She went to hand him the paper-work to him but he held up his hand making her even suspicious. She knew who this was; she kept telling herself that there was no way that could be true though. Then he spoke “I’ve got only one question,” he repeated. “Does the term ‘Chaos Emerald’ mean anything to you?”
Her eyes grew even wider, if that was possible, and she began to shake a little due to her nervousness. She looked to her passenger to see his response only to find him totally confused, and then she turned back to the “officer”. She knew that he knew the answer just by her expression, without her saying anything to confirm his question, he said “Pull over to the side for a moment.” She shakily put the blue truck in drive and parked it on the side of the road and watched as he turned off the flashing lights and all the other cars left.
“What’s your problem?” J.J. whispered as soon as we pulled over. She was too overwhelmed by the millions of thoughts that ran through her head that she couldn’t answer. Before he could press more questions, the faux officer appeared at her window.
“Now . . . answer my question.” He said calmly, which made her worry even more. How is she supposed to answer him? Should she tell the truth or lie? Could he tell if she lied if she did?
She took a deep breath and answered the best way she could. “W-well what do you mean by what does a Chaos Emerald mean to me?” She felt light-headed and nervous. He just sat there for a moment studying the expression of my face, well that’s all I could tell since he had shades on.
“Well see, I’m gathering-“he paused as if to think of the correct word to say “information from several people, like you and if I am correct on my assumption; I would like you to step out of the car.” So I did as I were told and got out and followed him fearing the worst. But he stopped after a few steps and added, “And bring your little friend too.”
As we walked through a field that was close by and was used for the cross country team for their practice runs. “I know that at least one of you has information that I need and I would like it if you two would cooperate.” He spoke over his shoulder as we continued walking. We said nothing, we didn’t even glance at each other, and we just kept walking not wanting to do or say the wrong thing. Then he stopped abruptly for no reason, so it seemed. But then he gave a voice command that I couldn’t make out and a large metal door opened before us, bright light illuminating from the doorway. He simply waltzes through with me and J.J. following suit, but I could sense the tension of the situation. I would have thought that J.J. would have made a run for it by now but he stayed right behind me the whole walk here.
As we entered the large, spacious room –and our eyes adjusted to the lighting –we were surrounded by a huge computer screens and possibly hundreds of buttons. Thousands of wires lined the walls in all directions, along with a few knickknacks here and there. Nothing like I have pictured in many of the stories that I have read. Then when I turned to face him, I noticed that he was wearing his normal attire along side his robot companions. He eyed us both before speaking “Make yourselves at home.” The words were laced with dishonesty that sported a zealous grin. He turned and sat on his large red chair that seemed to hover in mid-air, and began typing in codes and words into the computer. As for the unfortunate passengers, we just stood there not knowing what to do. Well as least my nerves aren’t as bad as they were before. Shockingly she wasn’t that scared or worried anymore, but again, her side kick was the total opposite. She glanced over to him to find his face drained of blood and looking terrified. Poor J.J., he shouldn’t be here, he doesn’t have a clue about what’s going on or anything! Suddenly the large window in front of us revealed a large yellow ring being shot out in the sky –wait the sky? When did we take off? How did we not notice this? Maybe I was just to busy thinking . . . –the gold ring then expanded large enough for Eggman’s ship to easily slip through. As we flew through the ring I noticed a word on the Doctor’s screen that stood out more than anything –Mobius. When we passed through the sky, it changed to a clear night filled with bright stars showing us our way through the darkness. A warp ring. That was her only guess on how or what the ring was.
“Now which one of you has the information I need?” he asked as he spun around in his chair in an unnecessarily evil way. There was no answer at first until she finally got the courage to say something.
“I-I do.” She said trying to defend her helpless friend from anything else.
“Well, let me make this perfectly clear. You will have to work for me and do everything I say. This goes to the two of you.” He sounded like he was speaking in some kind of meeting or something, like he was giving orders instead of asking a question. She thought and knew deep down that she could ever work for him, after all that she has gone through in her mind; she couldn’t find a good reason to. “I’m sorry but I will never work for you.” She said more quietly than she intended.
“I figured that you wouldn’t agree, but maybe this will. Orbot and Cubot, take these two to section 4-A. NOW!” and with that the robots lead us towards the “section 4-A” with Eggman right behind us in his hover pod. I knew I should be freaking out or something but instead I was somewhat numb, like my body is making its own decisions without me noticing. With J.J. right beside me, I have no idea what’s going through his head. But as we approached Section 4-A did I really start to panic. Above two large doors read “GARBAGE DISPOSAL”. What a nice way to get rid of someone.
“Now,” he opened the two large doors by pressing a button on the wall to our right. I could feel wind coming from the large square opening in the floor, beyond the opened doors, indicating that it lead straight down to the open sky. “agree to work for me or your friend here gets it.” He motioned towards J.J. as Cubot behind him nudged him closer to the edge. He finally said something “Hannah p-please just d-do what he says ok-okay?” he kept repeating. Saying how he was sorry for ever being rude or mean to her. She was already on the verge of tears. This was the one thing she hated the most, making a major decision. Seeing her having self conflict, Eggman motioned towards Cubot again, pushing J.J. closer to the deathly edge. Hannah stepped in front of him to prevent him from being push over the edge which she found herself really close to. “Please leave him alone, he doesn’t know anything. I will-“There was a sudden jerk and the large ship shifted from being hit, the vibrations shock the whole thing making Hannah tumbled backwards down into the sky below.
A/N: Funny thing is, I used to be friends with "J.J" but not anymore due to unknown reasons but that will be another aspect that will change in the update

The correct way to write it would be: "(...) not one, but several lives".
Simple mistake. I'm really impressed by your introduction by the way, it's fantastic! I hope one day I'll write as well as you. The description built such a powerful and beautiful image in my mind, very See More poetic.
