Island

She couldn’t believe this was happening. Darkness enveloped her as she fell down the shoot and into the sky –she thought until her arm hit a branch. She fell hitting every branch on the way down, hearing several things snap and break. Twisting and falling for what seemed like forever until she hit the ground with a loud thud. That’s when she felt the intense pain wash over her. Everything screamed out in pain, from everywhere at one time. She looked down in the pale moonlight and saw her right arm all contorted and askew. As the pain increased she found difficultly breathing, fearing that she might have got a few broken ribs. She tasted copper in her mouth only to be interpreted as blood. She laid there on the now moist grass with her vision filling with black spots and her body growing cold. She didn’t want to go out this way, especially knowing that she was so far away from home, and her friend in the hands of Robotnik. Her thoughts became clouded and another wave of pain came over her seeming to numb her completely. Her body was telling her to give up that their battle is over, but in her mind she kept fighting to stay alive.
She was almost gone when a feminine voice spoke words she would never forget. “Just hold on a little bit longer, your life has just begun.”

The sound of the forest had awoken me from an eventful sleep. The sun was casting down through the half broken tree limbs and a slight headache taunted her to get up. She slowly rose but flinched a little at the soreness of her joints but found herself sitting upwards. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes trying to drive away the drowsiness of incomplete rest, that’s when she remembered the events of the night before. She shot up and was on her feet in one second but regretted it when she felt dizzy from getting up way too fast. That’s when another thought hit her, she looked down at her right arm remembering of its hideous shape after falling from the sky but now she saw something completely different. Her arm was for one shorter and now was lined with light brown fur. WHAT!? Oh this can’t really be happening can it? This has to be some kind of crazy dream! Yeah! Just like the ones I’ve been having! She tried to examine herself but couldn’t entirely do so, so she scanned through her surrounding quickly noticing that she was some kind of jungle environment. Light caught her eye and saw that it was coming from a small body of water, so she clumsily made her way to it; not used to her new anatomy.
Hannah got to the water’s edge but was a bit nervous to peer into it; but after coaching herself she glanced into the shiny liquid only to gasp at her reflection. She watched her hands come up and touch her face only to be touching her character instead. This can not be real. She thought. This is just like one of those cheesy quizzes on that website! Then she caught sight of her, now, huge clothing that were five times too big. So switched things around to where her black, graphic, t-shirt was now a small dress and somehow her converse still fit. Now I even look like a mary-su. Just great- then she thought again, well this beats than being dead. By the way what happene- Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard someone talking from where she was earlier; so she sneaked over behind a few small bushes and peeked through them to see who the voice was coming from. When she looked she didn’t see anyone, it suddenly became quiet and a little suspenseful. She was sure that she might have recognized the voice but its owner has disappeared. She turned to look around and came face to face with Knuckles and almost had a heart attack.
“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING ON MY ISLAND?!” he basically screamed in her face. She was crouched down and immediately felt tiny looking up to the red echidna. “WELL?!” he asked in a demanding voice. Hannah just now noticed that she hasn’t said a thing all morning and now here she is probably looking like a crazy woman who is mute. “I-“ She began but her voice cracked and sounded a bit off, so she tried again. “ I-I’m…I’m. I am-“ She thought, should I used my real name or my character’s name? I mean, this is my chance to change it. I can choose my own name. “Sage.” She finished with a nervous smile on her face and she was now standing.
“Well, Sage, what are you doing on my island?” he said a bit lower than the last time.
“Heh, yeah that’s a long story but long story short…I fell out of Eggman’s ship and I kinda landed here.” She answered slowly and she was looking up at Knuckles to see his response.
*On Eggman’s Ship*
The whirling sounds of the machinery was the only sound that occupied the silent air in the large observation room as Eggman stared at the short boy before him trying to decide his next plan of action. His plans were perfectly clear and have been a great progress in the operation to finally exterminate the bile hedgehog that had ruined his life.   He knew it would have worked; he had watched and listened to the people on Earth had thought that that hedgehog was just “fictional”, ha, what a bunch of baloney. He really thinks that he got them all won over but they just have to know who the real enemy is, and when they find out- the Doctor’s thought were interrupted when he focused on the useless boy in front of him. He tried to push any useful information out of him but he was as empty as a sieve so, this was just his luck, he figured. He had lost all of his other “components” due to them either not coming on board the ship or putting up a fight or even just being plain annoying. But this last one was, was just different; she cooperated and was anything but trouble and now she was probably dead for all he knows. She could’ve been the final piece to his year long puzzle.
“Now I’m sure you know your little friend knows far more than would ever want to, so I’m going to ask you this one time and I want an answer. Where would she get the information from?” he waited for the boy to answer and you could tell that he was desperate and in need of something to catch in his mind of her that would remember anything that his long gone friend might have known. “And if you give me anything useful, I will take you back to Earth where you belong.” He turned back around in his chair and faced the large computer screen and viewing some of his recent plans.
And then he answered.

*On the edge of Angel Island*

After their confrontation Sage and Knuckles were heading towards the edge of Angel Island to what seemed like the end of the world. A dense fog had begun to settle over the sea and the edges of the island were covered in the heavy mist of smoke as they creped along into what seemed like nothingness. “So, uh, Knuckles where did you say the closest town was?” Sage, or in manner of speaking Hannah, said to the figure in front of her who only sighed irritably. “I’m only going to tell you one more time; after you cross the bridge you follow the path until it splits into three paths and you would turn left and then right after that it should be right there!” She watched as he explained the directions and using his large hands very expressively when he spoke.
They finally reached the bridge that lead down from Angel Island to the land below but the old wood bridge was gently swinging in the sea breeze with a heavy fog allowing you to only see a few meters ahead of you. She looked at the sketchy rope bridge in front of her not to sure if it was the most secure. She glanced up at Knuckles as if asking if he was sure about her crossing but he seemed to have his mind lost somewhere in the fog.
“So where are your friends?” Sage asked trying to postpone her trip across the tightrope. He snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her like he didn’t understand what she just said, but the words caught up to him.
“Why would that matter to you?”  He asked.
“Heh, well aren’t you like friends with Sonic? Right?” Sage asked nervously trying to get something out of the echidna whose expression seemed to have changed. “ What did you say?” he said with his voice slowly rising and it seemed to be unstable at the same time.
“What would make you think I would be friends with someone like him?!” he continued getting in her personal space.
“I’m sorry I was just asking.” She apologized. Now she was starting to regret what she has asked in the first place and just went ahead and crossed the bridge.
“He is anything but my friend; he is no one’s friend! He isn’t the same hedgehog that everyone used to know! Wouldn’t you know that?” Sage shook her head. “He lost it, just like one day he was his normal self and the next he was someone else entirely! No one knows what happened to him on that run he went on that day but it changed him…” he stopped seeming like he was remembering some horrible nightmare but it slowly dissipated. She felt terrible now that she has brought this thing back to light in Knuckles but, at the same time, glad to have found out the startling news. So if Sonic is basically crazy and everything then what happened to everyone else? Could I possibly be in an alternative universe that corresponds with the real Mobius; or perhaps this is the real one?
“I’m sorry.” Was all she said as she stepped forward and began to cross the old bridge.
She was enveloped by the wispy fog as she made her way to the other side. Knuckles stood there at the edge still in a slight daze and at the same time making sure she made it across safely knowing that no one has used the bridge in years. Then something in the sky caught the echidna’s eye which sent his heart racing.
“Sage! Get across now!” he yelled across to her.
She was now one quarter across the bridge when she heard the warning, she turned around to see if she heard him correctly when something from underneath her flew by and broke the supporting boards and she fell with the boards but caught herself by holding on to the rope railings. She pulled herself up unto the remaining planks and was about to run across when something huge landed in front of her. It was a large bird that was twice as tall as she was with an elongated neck and sharp talons with a beak to match. Its deep red feathers danced in the wind as it approached her making a rasping hissing sound. She knew she couldn’t back up after a few steps since the planks have been displaced and that’s when she realized that this was a trap.
Then, from what seemed out of no where, a large fist came and punched the bird in the beak and it went over the edge. Knuckles didn’t waste any time. “Come on!” he began running down the rickety planks and that’s when she realized that more of those birds were appearing out of the fog and diving towards the bridge. The echidna lead the way at the fastest he could manage with Sage right behind him; then the birds began dive bombing straight into the wooden planks sending them into the air like tiny explosions. So they had to jump over the empty spaces and from time to time Knuckles would have to punch our way through a group of birds sending feathers flying. Then suddenly the entire bridge gave away and the end from Angel Island started descending towards the ocean. The wolf and echidna were only ten meters from land when the bridge fell; they held on to the planks and rope as the other end was still intact as the bridge swung in the air almost colliding with the face of a cliff. They swayed back and forth and when the movement decreased they began to climb the bridge like a latter    to reach safe land.
“Thanks.” Sage said as they pulled themselves of the edge.
“Yeah, you should have ran when I told you to.” He sternly stated.
The fog started to dissipate some and Sage and Knuckles, even though he didn’t     want to at first, began walking down the path that leads towards the city having no idea what was in store for them.

In the first paragraph, "(...) would change not one but, several lives" is incorrect.
The correct way to write it would be: "(...) not one, but several lives".

Simple mistake. I'm really impressed by your introduction by the way, it's fantastic! I hope one day I'll write as well as you. The description built such a powerful and beautiful image in my mind, very See More
