The Great... Sans? (Underswap! Sans X Reader)

Foreshadowing?

You start to sweat nervously as Sans stood across from you, posing with the confidence you certainly did not have.

"S-Sans, look, I would like nothing more than to battle you, (even though you'll probably kill me), but we have to go! I dont think we have the ti-"

You were cut off by Sans, "nonsense (y/n)! we have plenty of time! in fact, after this battle, i'll make you some of my legendary tacos! we can start our adventure tomorrow!"

He throws a bone at you, which you quickly dodged, and you tried again to talk him out of this.

"Please Sans, I don't want to accidentally hurt you!"

He looks at you with a big grin and laughs, "but (y/n), you can't hurt me! for i am the great sans!"

He throws more bones at you, which were getting really difficult to dodge, so you tried to spare him in order to make him stop.

"Sans, I won't fight you."

He seems surprised by your statement, but quickly gains his composure and smirks.

"well then, we'll just have to see how you do against my special blue attack!"

He started to throw blue bones at you, and remembering your past experiences with same colored weapons, you stayed still and waited for all of them to pass.

Once they were all gone, you sigh a breath of relief, but you were suddenly pulled to the ground and hit by a small white bone.

Looking up, you see Sans smiling wide, his eye glowing a bright blue while his hand was engulfed in a flame the same color. You stare at your soul, which was now a dark blue color.

"You're blue now! Thats my attack!"

Glancing at your HP, you see you have lost around 5 health, which didn't immediately cry out danger, but you still had to be careful.

You spared sans again and he threw more bones at you, sometimes tossing your soul around, until you were gasping for breath and at 2 HP.

Looking up you see Sans tired as well, but filled with determination to win this battle.

"now, prepare for my final attack!"

Bones were flying everywhere, and you were doing well enough dodging them at first, but one grazed your arm slightly, causing you to lose a health point, leaving you with only 1 HP.

Sans stops and grins triumphantly, his eyes becoming stars as he places his hands on his hips.

"well (y/n)! it looks like you were too weak for the great sans! i have won this battle! mweh-heh-heh! "

You smile lightly and nod your head, "Yep, to strong for me."

He lights up and begins to run toward the town. "come on! now I can make you some of my tacos!"

You try to step forward but the pain was to much, causing you to tip over. Luckily Papyrus caught you in time.

"HEH, DON'T WORRY KIDDO, I'LL CARRY YOU THE REST OF THE WAY THERE."

You only nodded your head, you were too exhausted to respond and your whole body burned and ached, practically screaming in pain.

Once you two were inside the house, Papyrus gently laid you on the couch and covered you with a blanket, walking off to get you some pain meds.

Soon after Sans walked in with a plate of tacos, apologizing for going to hard on you during the battle and making you feel awful, in which you quickly forgave him.

You ate the tacos (which were actually really good! ) and felt some of your energy come back, and quickly took the pain pills that Papyrus had given you, dulling the pain and making you drowsy. You soon fell asleep as the skeleton brothers continued about their buisness.

In your Dream~

You stood across from Sans, a huge area in between you two. Sans had a remote in his hand while the other was on his hip, he seemed happy with himself.

"okay (y/n)! prepare for my newest puzzle! the-! well, i don't have a name for it yet..."

He presses the botton on his remote, and the ground shook as something rose out from the snow in front of you. Once everything had finally calmed down, you look to see that his newest puzzle was another maze, but this time it was visible.

"(y/n)! this is my newest puzzle, a maze that is not only visible, but has traps too! and you are going to test it out for me!"

You nervously look at the maze, but you quickly agree to Sans' offer, letting out a small, "Okay."

"great!" He cheered, "now lets get started! "

You entered the maze quickly, and take a right, only to find that it was a dead end. Turning around the other way, you traverse deeper and deeper into the maze, and begin to feel hopelessly lost. Just then, you hear Sans' voice.

"oh, hello human."

You were confused, Sans always refers to you by your first name, no matter what, so... who was he talking too?

It was silent until you hear a sudden gasp and loud squeal, followed by a, "another human!"

You begin to walk faster, something about this didn't feel right. Another human? You didn't like the sound of it.

"I am so glad to meet you human! but, you are going to have to wait if you are going to use this puzzle, my other human friend is currently testing it out! so you'll just have to wait for me to capture you."

You were a little closer to the exit now, you could sense it, and so you ran a little, going even faster than before.

"hmm? what are you holding human?" There was a brief pause before you hear, "w-what are you doing?"

You were running now, sprinting to the exit. You could see the end, but the more you ran, the farther away it seemed. You tried to yell out his name, but your voice didn't seem to work. You continued to run to nowhere.

"h-human, please. you are starting to scare me." You hear him plea. Tears are welling now, you need to save him, but you cannot escape.

"no, no stop. stop! please! no, no, NO!"

Silence. You stop your running. Are you to late? You begin to sob. Then, out of the silence, you hear a laugh.

It was distorted, and maniacal, but it was familiar.

The exit seemed closer now, so you walked to the end, closer to the laughter. And as it got louder and clearer, you realized why it was so familiar.

It was Sans' voice.

You finally reach the end, and you turn the corner, and your eyes land on Sans.

Oh no.

You quickly sit up, breathing heavily and tears streaming down your face. Figures the first sleep you had in a long while would be interrupted by a nightmare.
