Chapter 6
The long car ride made Midnight sick. She went on car rides, but none where this long! She stared at Tiger while he was taking a nap. He can sleep, so why can`t I?Once they finally got to Marigold`s house, Midnight pushed her way out of the box. The scent of lemon cleaning supplies filling her nose. Scratching post everywhere! Each one looked different!
The man yelled at Marigold while Midnight sat, sleepily, on the couch. “If this house isn`t sparkling by the time your mother gets home I`m taking both your cats back to the shelter!”
“Yes, daddy.” Marigold softly replied.
How could her own dad treat her like that? That careless beast! My mother and father never treated me like that! How could he!
Midnight, slowly recovering from the car ride, slept in the light of a lost sunbeam. She slept for hours, then woke up to get some food.
“Midnight, tonight, we`re leaving this place!” Tiger mewed to her.
“Really? But I thought you didn`t want to escape!”
“Well, now I do. Now, first, you will jump that ledge and grab their keys. Next, I`ll unlock the door with the keys. Simple, right?” Tiger mewed.
“Simple,...right” Midnight silently mewed back
