Chapter 10
Midnight crept through the dark alley, going for home, until she meant a strange shadow creeping behind some trash cans. Midnight peeked behind the trash cans. Standing there was an orange-tabby.“Who are you?” Midnight asked.
“My name is Lion!” He responed.
“Um... what are you doing here?”
“I live here!”
“Well, I had to kill a beast who was going to harm everyone I loved.” Midnight said, as she was dragging Tiger`s body.
“Well, what are you doing with that?”
“I have to show my owner what happened to Tiger, even if she hates me for life. Just so she will know that Tiger is never coming back.”
“Well, can I come with you?” Lion asked.
“I guess, but we have to go now.”
Then, the two dashed into the shadows.
“So, your name is Midnight?” Lion asked.
“Yes.”
“I love that name! And.... I kind of love you.”
“Well, I like you too. You seem way nicer than Tiger.” Midnight said.
Finally, they reached Marigold`s house. Midnight scratched the door. Marigold opened the door and stared down at Midnight as she dropped Tiger`s dead body by her feet.
“Midnight! What happened?” Marigold asked, but she knew she was going to get no answer.
She took the two cats inside to rest. They laid down, wondering what the future would be like.
