Guardian
Sesa walked out of his house to find Kara waiting for him. She was smiling brightly, and he raised an eyebrow."You seem happy today." He says, walking with her to school. "Why's that?"
Kara giggled. "Can't I be in a good mood?" She asks, smiling and letting her blonde hair wave in the wind.
Sesa looked on, noticing that she was nicely curved, and that she was actually kind of pretty.
He shook his head. No time for that kind of thought.
"Seriously, its raining and you're happy? Weird." He stated rolling Hus eyes at her all too optimistic mood.
She giggles again.
"OK, I'll tell you why, but you gotta keep it a secrete, OK?' She says, hoping into her back and catching a piggyback ride.
He rolls his this eyes again.
"Sure, whatever. Just don't mess up my guitar." Sesa demands, adjusting to the new weight on his back.
She giggled softly, leaning into where only he could hear her, her warm breath on the back of his cold neck.
"My friends said that my crush will be mine, all he has to do is see my sweet side." She whispers, doing so rather childishly.
He smirks. "Really? Who's the poor guy?" He asks, nodding to an emo.
She cringes. "Uhm, no. He's close to me. Really close. He just doesn't know it yet." She says, making a cute noise as she cuddles into him.
Sesa wasn't stupid. He knew who she ment.
"Oh, its Skulls over there, isn't it?" He asks, nodding to a punk with way too many skull tattoos.
She shakes her head no. "Ew... Though he is kinda cute. No, its someone else entirely."
He pretends to think about it. "Its not me is it?" He asks, smirking slyly.
She blushed a little. "N-no! We're friends! That's just-"
"Stuttering is the first addition of guilt or, possibly even truth."
She froze for a moment.
No...
No..!
He wasn't supposed to find out this way!!!
He laughs.
"I'm kidding! So serious."
Kara let's out a silent sigh of relief.
"Well, ya got me." She chuckles nervously, climbing off of his back.
He almost found out...
"Well, I should go not attend class." Sesa says, walking the opposite direction from the school.
She watched him leave, then decided to follow him.
He walked through town, right to the next one, not once turning around to see if he was being followed.
'He must be confident in his secrecy... Well, not today, my love.' She thought, walking behind him at a comfortable pace that would seem normal to anyone else.
He walked to the province line, them stopped at a small cemetery.
She tilted her head in curiosity, then followed him into the grave yard.
Then, she heard him sing in front of a few grave stones, a white mist appearing at his feet.
Kara covered her mouth to keep from doing something stupid.
Was Sesa...
Like her..?
Sesa closed his eyes, continuing to play as he convulsed a little.
Kara almost jumped in to do something, but right as she decided to do it he stopped singing, packed up his guitar, then walked passed her.
She walked to the grave, gently touching the stone.
It glowed red at her touch, not the entire stone, but the cracks and lettering. She almost pulled her hand back when Sesa, sitting on a cross, lights a cigarette.
"Its a portal to one of four eternal realms. I just so happen to watch over Nul, the Redeemed demon realm." He says, blowing some smoke out.
She looks at him, confused. "What's Nul?"
He sighed. "Like I said, its an eternal realm. Its where we go when we dream."
Kara sat in front of him.
"Are there more?"
He shook his head.
"No. The other stones were broken, and their Guardians killed. I'm the last of my kind. We're kind of like Demi-Gods. Without the stones, we're susceptible to physical attacks. But I'm here to make sure the things in there stay in there." He puffs the cigarette again. "Not much to guard, except the occasional nightmare needing to be dispatched, and its usually too weak to resist."
Kara was amazed.
I mean, she saw and heard things, but that's because she thought she was bonkers.
But this...!
Kara beemed, smiling up at him.
He stomps the cigarette out, then looks at her.
"What? It's the tru-"
She tackles him, kissing him over and over.
"I thought I was crazy! Oh, thank god you're like me!"
Sesa pushes her off.
"First off, don't touch me. Secondly, Kara, you and I are nothing alike. Never have been, never will be. Now just leave me alone."
He turns and walks away, leaving Kara behind in the rain with a broken heart.
