Chapter 22: Punishment
It was almost lunch time and I couldn't wait to take a break from all this work I was doing. Uncle Pinhead had me working nonstop; he had me cleaning and sharpening his tools of torture as I like to call it. Some of the blades were stained with blood and was very hard to come off. I tried my best cleaning off what I could and just left it at that.Once I was finished with my work, I gathered up the tools in my arms and walked up the stairs to Uncle Pinhead's room. I kicked the door softly with my foot since I couldn't knock. Suddenly, the door flew open and Aunt Kirsty was at the door. Her hair was a mess as if she just woke up. She still wore her pink PJ's and I could see a slight of dry drool on the side of her mouth.
"Yes?", she asked.
"Is Uncle Pinhead in there?"
She nodded. She pushed the door open a little more wider and moved to the side to let me in.
I took one step into the room and the smell of blood hit my nostrils. As I walked past Kirsty, I took a quick glance at her and saw no blood. Where exactly was that smell coming from.
I fully walked into the room and saw the bed in a complete mess. The covers and sheets were tangled in one big ball and the pillows were laying helplessly about. I heard a door open and looked over to see Uncle Pinhead stepping out of the closet. He looked at me.
"Finished child?", he asked.
I nodded in response and walked over to the bed and sat the weapons down. I spread them all out and lined them up evenly. Uncle Pinhead walked over and stood by my side to see my handy work. He picked up the one instrument that cutted me many times. He ran his fingers over the edge of the blade and tapped his finger at the tip.
"Hmph.", he mumbled.
I watched as he sat that one down and picked up another one and did that same to the other one: touch the tip and the edge of it. I'm surprised they didn't cut him like they did me.
"Well.", Uncle Pinhead finally said. "They are in better condition then they first were. Alright child, your punishment is over. Thank you."
I nodded my head in response and turned on my heel and went to walk out. Kirsty, who was standing by the door with the look of disgust on her face as she looked at Uncle Pinhead, waved good bye to me and shut the door after I walked out. Instead of going back down the stairs, I walked over towards my room and opened the door and walked in. I collapsed on my bed and let out a sigh of relief. It felt good to lay down and to just get some time to myself. Just then, I heard something hit against my closet door. I looked up and saw my closet door open slowly and then, Uncle Boogey stepped out. I smiled.
"Uncle Boogey!", I smiled happily. I got off my bed and rushed over to hug him.
He chuckled as he hugged me back. "Well, it's good to see you too love!"
I smiled. "I was wondering when I was going to see you again."
It's been three months since I last saw Uncle Boogey. Last time I saw him was when him and Uncle Freddy got in argument about some girl that they both intended to kill.
"I had some business to take care of love.", he smiled, showing his sharp pointy teeth. "Also, I heard what happened between you and Pinhead. Fredrick said that Pinhead had chained you or something like that?"
I sighed, remembering back to what happened this morning. I walked over to my bed and took a seat at the edge. Uncle Boogey came over and sat next to me.
"Well?", Uncle Boogey questioned. "What happened?"
"Well, while you were gone, you know my dad has been seeing Mary right? The Jennis twin?"
Uncle Boogey thought for a moment and then nodded his head.
"Well, they been dating now and I heard my dad a couples weeks back pop the question to her. He asked her hand in marriage and the reason for that is because he thinks I need a mother figure in my life, and I don't need no mother!", I nearly shouted. "I mean I lived a great life just perfectly without a mother. And Mary, oh my god she gets on my nerves and-"
"Now just hold it right there.", Uncle Boogey cut me off. Uncle Boogey placed a hand on my shoulder and said, "Now, I don't blame you for saying Mary gets on your nerves because..."
Uncle Boogey stopped mid sentence and then looked around the room, searching to see if someone else was in the room. Then, he slowly leaned in my ear and whispered, "Just between you and me, she's pretty annoying to me. I don't see how your father puts up with her nagging and whining and such."
I giggled and nodded my head in agreement. I was so happy I found someone else that couldn't stand Mary as much as I do.
"Now.", Uncle Boogey began. "You know your father probably isn't marrying Mary just so she can be your mother, he's probably marrying her because he's in love. The last time I saw your father and Mary together, I saw how happy they were just being together and always laughing and such. Ashley, Mary makes your father very happy. Don't you think so?"
I thought for a moment and nodded. I remembered back to all the times where my father has asked me to go with him and Mary somewhere, but I always declined. My father would be angry at first, but when him and Mary come back from wherever they went too, they would laugh, smile and talk about what they did and how they had fun. I have noticed a change in my father ever since he started being with Mary. I saw how happy he was now and always up and about then he use to be and just seeing him happy, made me happy.
I sighed. "Your right Uncle Boogey, your right. You know, my dad always asks me to go out with him and Mary and-"
"But you never did.", Uncle Boogey finished for me.
I nodded. "Yes, but-"
"One evening with your father and soon-to-be step mom, wouldn't kill ya, would it?"
I sighed and shook my head. "No, I guess it wouldn't."
Uncle Boogey rubbed my arm and said, "The least you can do, even though I know you don't want to, is at least give Mary a chance. You might seem to take a liking to her and see how happy she makes you feel. Try to build a relationship with her since she will be your step mom soon."
I thought for a moment and let out another sigh. I really didn't want to do this and just before I went to say something, Uncle Boogey cut me off once more.
"Just to think, me and you would be stuck in the same category. We both don't like her and yet here are trying to build a relationship with her.", Uncle Boogey chuckled.
That made me laugh and I couldn't help, but nod in agreement.
"Have you even met her yet?", I asked.
Uncle Boogey nodded. "Yeah, but only once. I only talked her for a like a minute which was a hi and a bye."
I laughed again.
"Like I said, I got to build a relationship with her too if she's going to be my sister in-law. I got to get to know her as much as you do."
I nodded again. "Maybe you can get to know her at my birthday party.", I smiled. "You and her can talk then and catch up I guess."
Uncle Boogey thought for a minute and nodded. "I almost forgot about your birthday kiddo. Sorry about that."
I shrugged it off. "It's ok, I don't really want a party anyway.", I said truthfully.
"Why not?"
I shrugged. "I don't know, it's just...I don't know. I guess it's getting old."
Uncle Boogey chuckled and said, "Why don't you do something different?"
"We are.", I said. "Glen told me this morning that everyone was plan on doing a small surprise birthday party. Instead of doing it at Hell, they decided to do it here at home."
"Really now?", Uncle Boogey said. "And they planned all of this without me?"
Uncle Boogey shook his head in disgust and turned to me and sighed. "I was gone longer than I thought."
I reassured Uncle Boogey that it was all ok and to just forget about it. I got up from the bed and walked over to my closet. I scanned through my clothes and came upon a white, floral strap dress that was knee length. I smiled.
"Well, it is pretty warm outside today and dad said that him and Mary were gonna go for a walk....should I wear this?", I asked Uncle Boogey, putting the dress in front of my body.
Uncle Boogey got off the bed and stood over to get a good view of it. He nodded his head.
"I think that would be nice. When is Jason and Mary going out for a walk?"
I shrugged my shoulders and looked at the clock that stood on my nightstand. "Well, they said later so I really don't know."
Just then, there was a knock at my door and I looked over and saw my dad standing in the door way. He had his mask off and I was surprised to see him transformed into his "human" form. He wore some jeans with a pair of shoes and a sky blue t-shirt.
"Sorry if I'm interrupting, but I just wanted to let you know sweet heart, Mary and I are going out now. We'll be back later on ok. Be good.", my dad said.
Just before my dad left, I stopped him and asked, "Could I come?"
My dad stood still in place and then turned his head slowly to look at me. A look of happiness spread across his face and he nodded. "We'll be waiting downstairs."
As for that, he smiled and turned to Uncle Boogey. "Hey Boogey, glad to see you again."
Uncle Boogey nodded and walked over towards him. "It's good to be back."
Both men looked back at me and my dad said, "We'll be downstairs waiting sweetie."
I nodded my head and as for that, Uncle Boogey walked out with my dad and shut the door. Once they were gone, I let out a sigh and then smiled to myself. The look of happiness on my dad's face made me smile and just warm inside. I loved seeing my dad happy and I hoped just spending time with him and my soon to be step mom, would make him happier.
