It's Back
The sound of chirping birds awake me. I trudge across my room to my closet and yank the door open. Sluggishly, I randomly picked a pair of pants and a shirt. After I change out of my pajamas, I flop down on my bed. What should I do? My eyes scan my room, which, sadly, was pink as Allison said. Creepy stalker, I think, almost out loud. I catch a look through my window. The ground outside was still muddy from the rain yesterday. Suddenly, I hear a small yelp from a nearby room.“Walter,” I grumpily say to myself. “Why is it always Walter?”
The whole reason my room is pink is because of my brother anyways. We used to share and he wanted it to be pink. He always gets his way, of course.
Rolling my eyes, I sleepily walk into his room, but then I jump back, alarmed, when I see what is going on.
Walter’s tear-stained face looks up at me again.
“I had the nightmare again.” he says. “Megan, they’re coming this time.”
“Do mom and dad know?”
“Not yet.”
I pat his back nervously. For a two year old, Walter is really mature. The whole town’s fate rests on his shoulders. “Tell me about the dream again,” I say, wanting to suck every detail in.
