Day eight: Dear Diary 2
Rebecca...died...or, at least I'm sure she's dead. I should have gone out and saved her! I'm nothing but scum! I couldn't help Rebecca. I wasn't very close to her, but Dad was. Now he's really sad, and I'm sure he thinks I'm garbage too! I couldn't save Sally or Rebecca! It was all my (tear drop smudge) have to be like this!? I couldn't save either of them! I bet Cy could've, but I couldn't! (smudge) I should just stay in the back of the cave and die! I'm pretty sure Cy is looking over my shoulder as I write this....*Out of the diary*
Kate turned around to see that she was right. Cy was reading over her shoulder. He jumped back a little when she looked at him, but quickly regained his posture.
"sorry..." He said nervously. 'Why is he so nervous? Do I scare him?' She didn't answer him and turned back to her journal. He placed his hand on her shoulder.
"You really shouldn't be writing about things like that." he said, "It's ok your upset, but you shouldn't be calling yourself names because of it!" Cy began to leave, at the entrance to the cave, he looked back and said, "chin up!" Kate nearly jumped. That was exactly what Sally would say. Her eyes filled with tears again and she sat there crying, blaming herself for everything that had happened.
'I'm bad luck, everyone around me gets hurt! The yacht crashed because I was onboard! Dad slipped in the water because I was there! Rebecca died because Dad slipped because I was there! I'm just a black cat of misfortune I don't-' She heard a strange laughter. She didn't recognize the voice, but it sounded familiar.
"You ARE a bringer of misfortune!" the voice hissed in her head, "No matter what, you'll always cause more people to be hurt!"
"What?" Kate whispered. The voice laughed and continued.
"Everyone's going to die around you anyway, why not cause everyone misfortune? Hurt, or even better, DESTROY everything, and EVERYONE around you! It'll happen anyway...."
"No, you're wrong!" Kate said. The voice just spoke even louder, so loud it hurt her head. She grasped her head and screamed.
"Do it! You love to hurt! I am you! I know everything about you, I am not wrong! Go-"
"Kate?" The voice stopped, and so did Kate. She looked up to see Fiona standing above her. Mackenzie was cowardly hiding behind her sister, who still looked as cheerful as ever. Fiona looked at Kate confused. "Are you alright Kate?" The black haired teen quickly stood up.
"Yes, I'm fine!"
"Ok!" Fiona brightened up, "You were shouting so I was a little worried, you scared Mackie somehow!"
"well, I'm ok, really." Kate forced a smile. 'No I'm not ok! Stay away from me, or I'll just hurt you too!'
