Bonding
It was Sunday night, me, Teresa, and Thomas had just finished supper. We were just talking about random things. Sports, school, weather, you know, small talk.Thomas checked his phone and groaned.
"What's the matter, honey?" Teresa asked.
"There's a problem with the banking, I have to go check it out," he gave Teresa an apologetic look.
"It's okay. I think I can hold down the fort," Teresa laid her hand on Thomas's.
Thomas leaned over and gave Teresa a kiss.
I felt a pang of envy. I had never had a boyfriend, the only time I had ever kissed someone was in the seventh grade. It wasn't even because I wanted to! Blake Kimley had kissed me as a dare at some party. He got paid a dollar for every second he kissed me. He got paid an extra five because I smacked him with my flip flop on the side of the head. I'm pretty sure he ended up with a solid fifteen dollars.
But, Teresa and Thomas's kiss wasn't some seventh grade dare. I could tell they loved each other just by the way they looked at each other.

Thomas left, and I went up to my room to work on some homework. (I had to write a poem about my weekend- it took five minutes.) Teresa came in and flopped onto the bed beside me.
"What are you doing?"
I shruggedm "Homework."
"Mm, fun."
I laughed. "It's so exciting."
Teresa suddenly gasped. "I have an idea."
"Uh-oh."
She jumped up off the bed and held out her hands.
I took them and she pulled me up. She kept her hold on me as she dragged me down the hall to her bathroom.
"What are we doing in here?" I asked.
She finally released my hands and started digging through drawers. She started pulling out item after item of makeup. She threw her flat iron on the counter too. "I'm going to give you a makeover."
A wave of panic came over me. "Please don't."
Her lips pursed to form the perfect puppy dog face. "For me? This will be a good bonding expericence."
"But-" I started. Teresa cut me off by starting to yank a brush through my wavey hair. "OW!" I said as she pulled out a tangle.
"Sorry," she said, not sounding sorry at all.
************************************************
Thirty minutes later, and I was beginning to loose my pateince.
Teresa had brought in a chair and had turned it away from the mirror, so I had no idea what she had done to me- which was alot. She had started by brushing my hair, then she straightened it, then she put on what seemd like pounds of makeup on.
"I am almost done," she said. She grabbed a pair of tweezers.
"Whoa whoa whoa, hold on," I put my hands up to block her.
"If you let me pluck your eyebrows right now, we will be done in two minutes," she said.
I gave her my best You-Are -Such-A-Big-Fat-Liar look.
"Time me! If I'm not done two minutes from now, you can leave. I swear."
I groaned. "Hurry up."
One-hundred five seconds later, Teresa announced she was done. She clapped her hands. "You look so good!"
I stood up and turned to face the mirror. I gasped at my reflection. It couldn't have been me. No, this girl had straight, shiny, blonde hair, that framed her blemish-free face. Her freckles, although still there, were less bold. Her brown eyes seemed to sparkle more from the eyeliner, mascara, and eye shadow, that wasn't too dark, but compimented her eyes. No, this couldn't be me.
Teresa tapped her foot, "Well?!"
I responded with a question, "How did you do that?"
