New Life

When I woke up, I didn't know where I was.  My heart was racing when I finally realized where I was.  At my sisters new home.  My new home.  

I checked the alarm clock beside my bed.  It was 7 PM, I had slept for over six hours, but at least it was a Saturday, so it didn't matter.  Jus then, Teresa opened the door.

"Good morning sunshine," she joked.

I rolled my eyes and sat up, untangling my hair with my fingers.  "Hey."

"I see that the bed is comfortable," Teresa smiled.  "So, while you were sleeping, I went out and bought you some new clothes."

"I don't need new-"

Teresa cut me off.  "Yes, you do.  Listen, I want you to have a better teenage life than I did living with mom, okay?  So just thank me when I do something nice for you."

I smiled.  "Okay.  Thanks."

"I already hung them up in your closet," she nodded towards the door.

Closet, more like a whole seperate room for clothes.  It was huge!  I could fit my whole old bedroom in there!

"I also went out and bought you some makeup.  Not that you need any, but I just thought, at your age girls are wearing it, so I thoght maybe-"

"That's great, thanks."  I said, I didn't really wear makeup.  But, hey, it couldn't hurt to start right?

Teresa checked her watch.  "Oh, supper should be here soon... We ordered pizza because we didn't know what you wanted exactly."

"I love pizza," I said.

The doorbell rang and Teresa bolted down the hall and stairs to answer it.

Supper was great.  Teresa's finance was funny.  The house was perfect.  Everything seemed so... unreal.  

I couldn't help but feeling that maybe, this is my new life.  Filled with fun, and flat screen TV's, and pizza.
