Monday, Monday, Monday!
BEEP.What?
BEEP.
What's happening? I'm so tired. I'm just going to...
BEEP.
My sleep clouded brain finally registered the sound was an alarm clock.
I felt like crying. I really didn't want to go back to school. Would Teresa home-school me? Note to self: Ask Teresa about home-schooling. BEEP.
"Shut up," I grumbled as I hit the snooze.
Suddenly, a stream of light poured into my bedroom and I let out a small yell. I pulled the covers over my head to block it.
"Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey," Teresa crooned from the doorway.
"No," I muttered.
"I'm being serious. I made eggs and bacon."
All of a sudden, the covers were torn away. "Please get up or I'm never letting you stay up again."
We had stayed up until one in the morning. After she had given me the makeover, she taught me how to do my makeup and hair. Then, we just watched TV and made popcorn. Time got away and now, here I am. Exhausted and moody.
"Fine. But I want lots of bacon," I told Teresa.
The smell encouraged me to move down the stairs in a half-way reasonable pace. Seriously, it smelled like heaven. But then again, bacon is a little strip of heaven.
After I ate, I had to get ready. Teresa said she had picked out an outfit for me-(What am I, five?). It was laying on my bed. It was a sundress and a blue jean jacket. Now, I'm pretty girly. I like dresses and feeling like a princess, but a dress to school? It made me seem like an attention hog. But, the more I look at the dress, the cuter it gets. It's light green, ruffled top, with little yellow and orange flowers decorating it.
I slipped on the dress. It fit perfectly. It was the perfect length, too.
I checked the time. Oh crap. If I was going to do at least half of what Teresa had done last night, I would have to hurry.
Thirty minutes later and my hair was straight, my face glowing and pimple free, my cheeks blushed, my eyes lined and shadowed, and my lips glossed.
I had to admit, I looked pretty good.
"Kase, come on!"
With one last glance at my reflection, I was out the door.
****************************************************
I could feel the stares and the looks. Oh dear God, please don't let me look as flustered as I think I do.
After Teresa had dropped me off, (oh yeah, no more bicycle rides in the rain), all conversation stopped in the hall. It was like someone had hit the mute button. I swear, it's like they've never seen me before.
Well, on second thought, they might not have.
I managed to make it to my locker without making a complete idiot of myself. Why did I wear this dress? Just why?
Then, at the end of the hall, I saw Lucas. Some very very very pretty girl was trying to talk to him, but he wasn't listening. He was to busy looking at something-or someone. Then, we made eye contact. I realized he had been staring at me.
