Cocoa's Apartment

Cocoa's Apartment After I was dressed mom hurried me into the car and discussed proper manners for a dinner at someone's house. I just nodded my head.

We arrived at... an apartment building? Mom checked the address and told me it was the right place. I walked in and asked a teenager with light brown hair for the room number of Cocoa Memphis. "Um..." he walked over to the desk and dug through a pile of papers until he found a red book. "Cocoa Memphis, room forty-nine." I scrambled up the stairs until reaching the sixth floor. I stopped to rest for a minute, then walked in.

"Welcome!" Cocoa exclaimed as I entered the room. I took a look around. Her apartment was full of various trinkets. There was a polished walnut table on which sat steaming enchiladas, a side of chips and salsa, and a cup of root beer. Cocoa had a closed chest, but there was a corner of a pink shirt poking out. An Apple laptop sat on a coffee table. The wall was covered with posters. A Club Penguin poster, some K-pop band posters, about twenty posters promoting animal charities. "Take a seat!" Cocoa suggested and pulled out a chair.

I sat down and looked over at Cocoa. She was taking a bite of an enchilada. I decided to start with a chip. I picked one out of my bowl and scooped some salsa on. It tasted delicious! Just the right amount of spice and the perfect crunch. "Where'd you buy this salsa?" I asked. "I think I bough the peppers at Honeydew Falls Grocer, the-" Cocoa started. "This is homemade?!" "Yep!" I stared in awe.

After I finished the meal, Cocoa disappeared into the kitchen and came back carrying a chocolate cake. She cut a couple slices and shoved her face into one. I grabbed the other. When Cocoa looked up, her mouth was the color of her hair, and she was grinning. "Lemon." she said, grinning even wider. I looked down and saw a yellow filling. "Mmm! This is delicious!" I complimented. "Thanks. I don't get many guests. Probably because they won't let me bedazzle my door."

Cocoa disappeared again, and came back with a carrot cupcake. "Here, Creampuff!" Cocoa called. Creampuff hopped over. Cocoa set the cupcake on the floor and waited while Creampuff nibbled away at it. I watched him as he slowly grazed his way through the cupcake. After ten minutes, Creampuff finished.

"Who wants to have a sleepover?" Cocoa asked, excitedly. Creampuff squeaked.
