Love Or Hate

Chapter 5

It's been a few days since Louis came up with the idea to have a real battle with Frank during Social Studies. As more days passed, Daniela has been getting more and more worried about battle between Louis and Frank. The day has finally come for Frank and Louis to battle each for their pride and for the princess. The group had already consulted with Mr. Derail about the fight, and Mr. Derail said as long Louis and Frank wouldn't beat each other up, it was fine.

Louis, Frank, and Daniela went to the bathroom to go change into their costumes. When they came back, it was like they were from the medieval times. Louis and Frank were dressed in armor they got from the costume store. They both wore a knights helmet with its visor. Chest plate, armor for the legs, arms, and feet. Their armor shined brightly in the light, even though it was made of plastic. Behind them was Daniela in her dress. Her dress was dark red like a rose in a meadow, ready to get picked for a man's love. Where the chest was, shown black lace going from left to right, ending above the stomach, where the rest lay loose. Where the sleeves ended, was a black lacy fabric. Daniela's dress was long and you could only see a bit of her red slippers. Her hair was down and to the side. For the last piece of her costume, she wore a black necklace with a crescent, it was as shiny as the moon on a cold, foggy night. In both of Daniela's hands were two plastic swords, they were made to look like the real thing. Louis leaned over to Daniela and whispered in her ear, "Where did you get the dress? It looks like the real thing." "My uncle owns an antique shop, I borrowed it from him." Daniela whispered back. "You look great." Louis said sincerely, looking in Daniela's and grinned. Daniela's heart started to beat deeply and she started to blush really hard. There goes that feeling again, thought Daniela.
"Okay, we are doing medieval battling. Louis and I are the knights battling, Daniela is the princess, and you all are going to be the crowd. So what is happening is that, the king has announced that his daughter were to be married to one of his knights. The catch was that he was going to pick two of his greatest knights, and they were to fight each other to earn the princess' hand in marriage." announced Frank.
       Everyone oohed and awed. "But that was the king's catch. Now for our play, we made our own catch to make it more interesting, we have not planned out who is going to win, so me and Frank will battle for real. We will be doing this outside." added Louis. Everyone's expressions showed amazement and shock. Allison and Kate raised their hands. "Yes Allison? Kate you can go after her." said Louis. "So you two are going to really fight . . ." started Allison. "And it is anonymous who is going to when." finished Kate. "Yup." smiled Frank as Daniela sadly nodded her head yes. Both Kate and Allison's faces were concerned. "Lets go outside now, the principle wanted to watch as well, that's why we were granted the permission. Surprising isn't it?" sighed Mr. Derail. Everyone lined up to go outside.

Finally everyone was outside and ready. "Okay, your group may begin now." said Mr. Derail. Louis stood at one side of Daniela, and Frank on the other. Daniela handed each of them their sword. She then stood back and placed her arm in the middle of both of them. "Begin!" shouted Daniela and she quickly took her arm away and stood back even more away from Frank and Louis. They both glared at each other, arms out, clenching their swords hard. Frank swung his sword while quickly running towards Louis. Louis dodged it and swung back. Frank blocked the attack with his sword, and the both of them clenched their teeth and pressed hard on each other's sword. "Don't get too arrogant." said Louis and he moved back and charged again. Frank and Louis' swords clashed again. "Not trying too." responded Frank and he swung his sword again. Daniela covered her eyes. Louis dodged the sword many times, and then it went the other way around. Frank jumped, moved to the side, blocked Louis' attacks. The class started to cheer on Frank. Frank stopped to wave at the crowd. Louis smirked. He ran and shouted, "Don't lose focus! Pay attention to our battle!" Daniela looked to see Frank turned around and get hit by Louis' plastic sword on the arm. Frank covered his arm with his other one, while holding the sword. "That hurt!" yelled Frank. "Wasn't it supposed to?" asked Louis and he swung his sword again and knocked Frank's sword out of his hand. Daniela and everyone else watched as everything was unfolding. Louis lifted his arm and pointed his sword at Frank's face. "Give up?" sneered Louis. Frank sighed and put his hands up and spoke, "Alright." "Good to see it my way." grinned Louis.
Everyone cheered and Louis waved his hands around happily. He then saw Frank stand there awkwardly, and so Louis grabbed Frank's hands and waved them
around as well. Louis then walked over to Daniela and bent down on one knee. He took Daniela's hand. "Now I can take the princess' hand in marriage." Louis said smiling. Daniela's eyes widened and her face became red. Daniela put her other hand to her face and nodded and giggled.
