Love Or Hate

Chapter 3

Daniela slowly walked into the girls locker room. She was still really sleepy, she hadn't slept much. Daniela was up all night thinking about what happened the other day. I wonder if Louis is in my gym class? thought Daniela, she then sighed and started to open her gym locker. Arg! What am I thinking!?! Daniela shook her head back and forth trying to snap back into reality. "Oh, hey Daniela, how are you?" Hana asked as she put her stuff down and started to open her locker as well. Allison popped up behind Hana. "Yeah, Daniela, what's up?" Allison added. Daniela quickly put her hand to the back of her head and started laugh awkwardly. "Hey guys, I am alright, nothing much has been going on," "So you ready for P.E.?" Allison asked starting put on her gym clothes. "Yeah, I am ready," replied Daniela as she finished putting on her gym clothes and closed her locker.
After Hana and Allison finished changing they walked inside the gymnasium. "Everyone sit down in your assigned squad lines until class starts!" Announced on of the gym teachers, Mrs. Lean. Daniela, Hana, and Allison split apart and went to their lines. The boys haven't left their locker room, so it was just the girls in the gym first. Two girls in Daniela's line walked up to her. Daniela looked up and recognized both of the girls. "Daniela, it's been a long time, remember us, from 5th grade? It's Nina Finch and Aya Chang," One of the girls said as she pointed to herself and the other girl. Nina, the girl who was talking, had her up in a ponytail. She had black, wavy hair and brown eyes. Nina wore a yellow shirt, black sweatpants, and black sneakers. The other girl, Aya, had short, black, straight hair. She had on a pink shirt and sport shorts, with white shoes. Daniela quickly respond. "Nina, Aya, I remember. It's nice to see you two again," said Daniela joyfully. "I'm glad we're in the same gym class!" said Aya happily. "Yeah me too," replied Daniela. Aya smiled and both her Nina and her sat down in their squad line.
After a couple of minutes, the boys started coming in the gym. Daniela watched one by one come out of the boys locker room. Then, soon it seemed like the last two boys came out. Daniela was disappointed. She was hoping to see Louis since she didn't see him earlier at his locker. The other gym teacher, Mr. Mound, soon came out. "Hey, you get out of there we are going to start class," Mr. Mound, popping his head back into the locker room, called out. Slowly Daniela saw a boy come out of the locker room. It was Louis. Daniela blushed. When Louis saw Daniela, he waved. Daniela shyly waved back. Louis came over and sat right next to her, but Aya intruded. "Louis, shouldn't you be sitting in your own line?" No, leave him be please, Daniela said in her head as she smiled at Aya and shake her head tensely, trying to tell her to be quiet nicely. "I am, this is my assigned squad line," Louis said proudly. Mr. Mound spoke up. "Today we will play some volleyball, now first you all have to pick teams it will be five people per team. We will let you pick your own teams this time, but if it gets chaotic, it's the end of your own choice. Got it? Okay, get into your teams!" announced Mr. Mound.
Everyone got up and walked all around. "Hey Dani, let's be on the same team," said Louis looking straight at Daniela. Dani? wondered Daniela. "Well, if it’s okay with you, also I am going to call you Dani for now on," Louis said acting a bit shy. "Um, yeah, I guess it's alright," Daniela said. "Daniela, over here!" shouted Allison. Allison and Hana had also found someone to be in their team. Daniela quickly walked to Hana and Allison with Louis following behind her. "Louis is going to be in our team?" asked Hana looking at Louis weirdly. "Yeah and with him . . . we have five now," answered Daniela cheerfully. Daniela stared at the girl who was with Allison and Hana. "Oh yeah! Daniela this is Kate Robin. Kate this is Daniela," introduced Hana. Kate's hair was curly, long, and brown. She had a white t-shirt, black sport shorts, and white shoes. "Nice to meet you! I hope we can be friends," Daniela cheerfully said, smiling big. "Nice to meet you too, I would love to be friends," said Kate.

All the teams were moved to different parts of the volleyball nets. Daniela's team was versing Nina's team. Louis and Daniela were in the back and Hana, Kate, and Allison were in the front. Louis served the ball first. The ball went back and forth and finally it was Nina's team to serve the ball next. Aya hit the ball and failed. She tried again, but this time the ball hit the ceiling and landed back down on her team's side. Daniela clenched her mouth together, trying not to open it. But then Daniela saw Aya's face when that all happened and Daniela bursted out laughing. She was laughing hard. Daniela put her hand to her stomach, because it started to hurt badly. Louis stared at Daniela, amused, hand to his mouth and started to chuckle. Everyone watched as Daniela sat on the floor laughing. Finally Daniela stopped laughing and quickly got up, her face serious. Everyone's faces were confused and some were smiling ready to start laughing as well. Then both teams continued their match. It was Hana's turn to serve. She hit the ball hard and it landed right in the middle of the other team's side. Hana served once more. This time Nina countered the ball back into Daniela's side. The ball headed straight at Daniela. "Watch out Daniela!" warned Allison. Daniela wasn't paying attention and she just noticed the ball the moment Allison shouted. Daniela didn't know what to do and she ended up standing still, she closed her eyes imagining the worst. BAM! Daniela slowly opened her eyes, and her eyes widened.
