Love Or Hate

Chapter 17

"You want me to come over your house?" Frank asked while he was typing on his laptop. "Yeah, it'll be fun." Daniela assured Frank. Frank thought for a moment. "Sure, sounds good." Frank replied and he stopped typing. "So what time?" "Uh, how about tomorrow at two?" Daniela asked, unsure if it was alright. "Sounds like plan." "Yay!" Daniela cheered happily. Frank smiled brightly. "Here I'll write down my address." Daniela took out a piece of loose leaf paper and wrote down her home address. She handed it to Frank. Frank looked at the address then stuffed the piece of paper in his pocket. "Thanks." Frank thanked.
The bell rang.
Everyone got up and walked out the door. "So I'll see you then?" Daniela asked. "Yeah." Frank smiled. "Great, bye." Daniela waved bye to Frank and quickly ran up the stairs and to her locker. When Daniela's locker was in her reach of sight, Daniela saw Louis already at his locker. Oh no, Daniela thought disappointedly. Daniela walked over and quickly opened her locker. She kept some distance between Louis and her. Daniela closed her locker and put on her backpack. She waited patiently at her locker for Melissa to come. Louis finished packing up, closed his locker, and waited as well. Daniela and Louis stood at their lockers awkwardly. Louis snuck peeks at Daniela. Daniela noticed and bit her lip. Melissa finally came and Daniela quickly walked away with her. She noticed Louis walk away from his locker. Daniela sighed. Time has been going by so fast, this same thing has been going on for awhile now. What month is it again? "Hey Melissa, what's the date today?" Daniela asked curiously. "April 19th." Melissa replied. "April??" Daniela asked very surprised. They both got into the bus. "Yeah it's April, why do you seem so surprised?" Melissa asked baffled. "Time as gone by too quickly, it feels just like yesterday was January." Daniela said to herself. Melissa sighed. "Well, I don't know where have you been this whole time, but remember we have our state test in two weeks. Daniela thought for a moment. She groaned. "Oh yeah, Mrs. Werner was talking about that on Wednesday, I guess I wasn't paying attention to that." "Oh Daniela." Melissa patted Daniela's back. Daniela sighed. So it's been four months since we broke up, right?

Daniela waited patiently at her front porch, walking back and forth. "Where is he?" Daniela whispered to herself. She took a deep breath. "Wow it's a pretty nice day to be out." Daniela smiled. She was wearing a tshirt and shorts. Daniela also wore her silver necklace that Felix gave her. She clutched it tightly and sighed. She thought back to the last time when Daniela was in the nurse's office.

Flashback:
Louis had left to get Daniela's lunchbox from the lunch table. Everyone else but Felix had left to their classes when the bell rang. It was just Daniela and Felix in the nurse's office. They stared at each other for a moment. "Here." Felix held out the necklace he had given her. The chain was broken. Daniela put her hand to her neck, feeling for the necklace that was supposed to be on her neck. It wasn't there. "What happened to it?" Daniela asked taking the broken necklace into her hands. "Louis ripped it off your neck before he carried you here." Felix replied. Daniela's eyes widened, but then she smiled slightly. "That guy." Daniela laughed. She stuffed the necklace into her pocket. "I'll fix it when I get home." Daniela told Felix.
Felix smiled and leaned over to Daniela's ear. "Remember what I said about me waiting, it'll never change. I'll wait for you." Felix whispered in her ear. He kissed Daniela on the cheek and left. Daniela blush furiously. Her face was bright red and her cheeks were hot. Daniela put her hand to her cheek. Oh my gosh. Louis entered the office. "Where's everyone?" he asked as he handed Daniela her lunchbox. "Well when the bell rang everyone but, Felix, left." Daniela explained. Louis raised an eyebrow. "That explains why I bumped into him on my way here and not everyone else." Louis stared at Daniela. "Did he do anything to you while everyone else and I were gone?" Louis asked as a serious expression came upon his face. "Um, he gave me a peck on the cheek . ." Daniela answered, trying to avoid eye contact with Louis. Louis clenched his fist. He took a deep breath and loosened his grip.
It was silent in the room. Louis was in deep thought and Daniela looked out the window watching the cars pass by. Should I really make this decision? Louis looked up at Daniela, still deep in thought. It may be best for her, but what about me? Louis bit his lip. I'll do it next week, it's my only choice. Louis got up and looked at the clock. "Are you feeling better?" Louis asked. Daniela quickly turned her head and nodded. Louis smiled sadly. "Alright, I'll take you to your class." Louis motioned Daniela to come with him out the door. Daniela got up and jumped of the bed. She walked out the door with Louis. Daniela smiled brightly at Louis. Louis noticed and smiled slightly back.
Later that day, when Daniela had gone back home, she took the necklace and taped it together with some white duck tape.
Flashback Over

"Hey!" Daniela snapped out of her thoughts. She looked up. It was Frank. Daniela smiled brightly. She ran over to him. "Sorry I'm late, I got kinda lost." Frank admitted. "I could've got my dad to drive you here." Daniela told Frank. "No, I like walking." assured Frank. Daniela sighed then smiled. "Suit yourself." said Daniela. At that moment, Daniela's father walked outside. "Hey dad, can Frank and I go to the park?" Daniela asked her father. Her father thought for a moment. "I don't know, just the two of you?" he asked. Daniela bit her lip, then smiled. "No I was going to bring Melissa along with us." Daniela replied. "Oh then I guess it's fine. I'll see you guys later." Daniela's father smiled, then he entered the house again. Daniela and Frank started to walk away from the house.
"So I guess we're going to Melissa's house." sighed Frank. "Nope." Daniela corrected him. "But you said to your dad that -" "I lied because I knew he wouldn't like it if it was just the two of us walking alone together." Daniela interrupted Frank. Frank's eyes widened, then leveled back down as he smiled. "You're smart." Frank patted Daniela on the head. She laughed. "So which park are we going to?" Frank asked. Daniela smirked. "None." Frank was shocked. "So you lied to you're dad about going to the park as well?" Frank asked, surprised and confused. "Yup, right now we're heading to the entertainment center." Daniela answered. They both crossed the street. "You mean the one with the bowling, laser tag, arcade games and pizzeria?" Frank asked, trying to confirm. "Yeah, it's not that far from here." Daniela nodded. "Won't he check on us?" asked Frank. "Yeah, by text." Daniela waved her phone in the air. "Alright." Frank replied, still unsure.
Daniela and Frank entered the building. The loud sound of music and talking voices entered their ears. "Did you bring money? Sorry for asking." Frank asked. Daniela pulled out a twenty and ten dollar bill. "I sure did." Daniela smiled. "All I have is ten dollars." said Frank, looking through his jean pocket. "Great then let's go buy our cards to play the games." Daniela said joyfully. They both got in line and bought their game cards.
Frank and Daniela walked around looking for a game to play together. As they walking around, Daniela bonked her head into someone else's. "Oww . . " moaned Daniela. She pressed her hand to her forehead. "Daniela, are you alright?" Frank put his hand on her back so she wouldn't fall back. "That hurt." Daniela groaned. The person who she bumped heads with also was covering his head. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean -" "It's alright, it was my fault." Daniela interrupted him. They both looked up.
"Felix?"
"Daniela?"
They both looked at each other confused. Frank removed his hand from Daniela's back. "What're you doing here?" Felix asked. "I'm hanging with Frank." Daniela motioned her head towards Frank, who was standing behind her. Felix looked over at him. "Sup Felix." Frank greeted. "Hey." Felix greeted back. "So what brings you here as well?" Daniela asked. "Uh, I just wanted to get away from my house for a little bit." Felix responded, leaning against one of the arcade games. "Oh okay." said Daniela. The three of them stood together awkwardly. Frank soon checked his watch. "Hmm, it's already 3 o'clock. How about we get started on a game Daniela?" Frank asked. "Alright." Daniela smiled. They both turned away and started to head off. "Wait!" Felix grabbed Daniela's arm. Both Daniela and Frank turned around. "How's it going with you and Louis? I wasn't able to ask you in awhile." he asked. A great chill went down Daniela's back. "Uh, Louis and I, we broke up four months ago." Daniela replied, she bit her lip. Frank saw Daniela's expression, her face was pale. "Maybe we should get going." Frank pushed Daniela's back lightly with his hand. Daniela and Frank started to walk away again. "I guess I waited long enough." said Felix. Daniela stopped.
"Frank!" someone shouted. Frank immediately turned around, and so did Felix and Daniela. Louis was waving his hand to Frank. Daniela saw and felt red hot on the face. She quickly hid behind Frank. Louis noticed Daniela quickly run behind Frank, then he noticed Felix next to them. Louis frowned and walked over to Frank. "What's up Frank?" Louis and Frank punched fists. "Just hanging with Daniela." Frank answered. Frank tilted his head to Daniela. Louis looked behind him. Daniela stood behind Frank, trying to hide from Louis. Felix finally spoke up. "So what brings you here Louis?" Felix asked. "Oh, I just got bored at my house." Louis replied. Felix smirked. "As I was saying Daniela, I waited much too long." Felix pulled Daniela from behind Frank. Louis suddenly kept his attention to the both of them. Frank bit his lip.
Felix took Daniela's hand. "Daniela, you mean the world to me. And since you're not with Louis anymore, I want to take this chance now. Will you go out with me?" Daniela couldn't believe what she was hearing. They were in public, so everyone else around them heard and awed sweetly. Louis raised an eyebrow. "I don't know Felix." Daniela answered, she avoided eye contact. Felix was disappointed. "Why?" "I know it's been just four months since Louis and I broke up, but I don't know if I'm ready to get into another relationship already." sighed Daniela. Louis' eyes widened. "You won't regret going out with me. You'll feel happier with me. Just give me a chance." Felix assured Daniela. "I don't know . . ." Daniela said unsure. Frank leaned over and whispered in Daniela's ear. "This could be your one chance to get over Louis. Also, you never know, Felix could be the one for you." Frank whispered to her. Daniela thought for a moment. She bit her lip. "Alright." Daniela said quietly. "What?" Felix asked, unsure of what she said. "I'll be glad go out with you." Daniela smiled.
Louis nor Felix could believe what they were hearing. Louis frowned and Felix smiled. "Great, you won't regret it." Felix remarked. He kissed Daniela on the cheek. Daniela blushed. Louis clenched his fists tightly. Daniela heard her phone beep. She checked it. "Oh no, my dad want me home now." Daniela groaned. Louis quickly walked out of the building. Frank hesitated to come with him. Daniela noticed and sighed. "You can go with him, I'll walk home alone." Daniela told him. Frank bit his lip. "I don't know, alone?" he asked, unsure. Felix quickly jumped in. "I'll walk her. Don't worry." Felix assured Frank. Frank sighed. "Alright." And with that, Frank ran out of the center, trying to catch up with Louis. "Come on." Felix held out his hand. Daniela held it and they both walked out of the entertainment center.
