The Island Of Pain

Day 7

When I woke up, Ralph was growling (which surprised me because he is a tiger and I don't think tigers are supposed to growl). He stood up, pulled me onto his back, and ran into the woods. I was surprised by how fast he ran. After about 10 minutes, Ralph stopped and looked around. He sniffed the ground, and stood there like he was scared. He started walking forward. We saw a ray of light, so we followed it. We made it out of the woods and saw a big temple. We approached it slowly. I asked Ralph, "Should we go inside?" He nodded. I got off of Ralph and opened the door slowly. We walked in and looked around a little bit. Then we spotted stairs and walked up the stairs. When we made it to the top of the staircase, I heard a deep voice say, "Hello." I stopped and thought about how long the person had been there. Then the person (or thing) said, "Don't be scared young one." I whispered to Ralph, "Should we go?" Ralph started to walk, so I followed. When we made it to the end of the staircase, I saw a whole city inside of the temple. I saw an old man that said, "I told them that we needed to create more pets." The old man then looked at Ralph and said, "My friend, why have you brought me this, this thing? Have you forgotten your job?" I just stood there with sand on me, a ripped shirt, some scratches, and lots of bruises. The old man said," And you're John Ramsey Licit, right?” so I said," Yes." Then the old man said," And I'm Jonathan Timothy Licit, but everyone here calls me 'Tim'." At first I was just like okay, but then it came to me. Jonathan Timothy Licit was the first person with video proof of the island. I stood there amazed, trying to figure out how long he'd been there. Tim (Jonathan Timothy Licit) then said," We should go to the high-council." We walked a while, and then I said," Why did you drop your camera?" so he said," It slipped out of my hands." I said," It slipped? That’s all that happened?" so he said," Yeah, is there anything wrong with that?" Then, I said," No, I guess not." After we walked about 50 minutes, we saw two tall blue doors. Tim opened the door, and said," What are you waiting for? Go on in." I walked in hesitantly with Ralph right behind me. When I made it in, Tim put his arm out and blocked Ralph from going inside. Tim then said," No animals allowed inside the main room." The inside was humongous. It had about 50 windows at the top of the building, big statues of weird looking animals all around the room, and five big chairs that looked like thrones. There were people sitting in the chairs, but they didn't look very normal. They were giants or something like that. One of them said," Come closer, don't be scared." I walked closer to them. I did it very slowly though, because I did not know if they were a threat or not. They looked young, but they talked like they were very old. I asked them why they needed me, so they all said," To ask you the question." so I said," What question?" The one that was tallest stood up and walked toward me. While he was walking toward me, he was shrinking. By the time he made it to me, he was the same height as me. He said," Come walk with me, and I shall explain everything." We walked outside of the main room together, and then he said," You see John; we are from a different planet called Taren. Then one day, when we were preparing for the major drought, a humongous meteor was heading toward Taren. Me and my four friends’ dads put us all on a ship and told us to run. When we flew away in the ship, we looked back and saw our planet explode. We flew for a long time, and then we found Earth. We crash landed on this island, and learned how to survive on Earth. After we lived here for two years, people started coming to the island and finding out about us, so we had to kill all of them. We did not like killing so many of your race, so we created pets. This would kill everyone who ventured toward the island, so that we didn’t have to. A while later, we discovered that some people could make it past our pets, so every person that survived and made it to the temple would be asked the question." I interrupted him by saying," What is the question?" so he said," Do you want to join us, or do you want to be sent to the camp?" so I said," I don't know, can I have some time to think about it?" He then said," I will give you one day to think about it." He called for Tim. Tim ran right to us. The weird alien man said this to Tim," Take him to his room." Tim led me to my room, which by the way was pretty much just a prison cell with a king size bed inside. When we made to my room, he pulled me inside and said," You have to help me take them down. Once someone reaches a certain age, they feed them to the dragon." so I said," Okay, I'll help you, but how?" so he said," That's for you to find out. The only thing I can tell you is: only one thing can kill them, which is this." he handed me a knife with a silver blade, and also handed me a cover for the knife. We heard someone coming, so he told me to put the cover on the knife and to put it in my shoe. I, of course, did what he told me to do. The person walked right past our room. Tim walked out of the room quickly. I jumped onto the bed and automatically fell asleep.
