Do you think the school systems are teaching pointless things? I watched the "Don't Stay in School" video that is viral. It brought up some great points, and it really opened up my eyes about what I'm learning in school. I don't think half of what is mandatory to learn is even going to help us in life. (EXAMPLE: Complex algebra, history, cursive, etc.)

School is not meant to help you in life. That is what your parents are there for. School is meant to give you the BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE you need to engage in educated conversations, to make educated decisions, and to be an educated person. And who does not want to be educated? And FYI if we did not learn history then we would repeat the past. I apologize if I sound rude but I am really passionate about this. I love school.

I think algebra can apply to life in certain job occupations. :-) History can apply to the interactions of everyday people and politics, and cursive applies to signing papers. :-) There you go! :-)
