Well, the chicken needs to lay an egg to be able to have another chicken. But the chicken needs to hatch out of an egg to be "officially" born this question has always gotten me..... The world may never know...

well, if you beleive in evolutino, the egg came first since the first things to sexually reproduce were reptiles or fish.
