Cardcaptors and Pretty Cure are the best animes EVER!
It's about a girl called Sakura Kinomoto and she discovers an old book. It has magical cards in it. She discovers she is a Cardcaptor, but she refuses to believe it. After a while she agrees to save the world and become one. This is one of my favourite animes, I like all sorts of weird animes that nobody has heard of, especially magical girl ones. :) And if you See More watch Cardcaptors in English, my all-time favourite voice actor voices Julian Star, who is so cuuuute!!! :D

I think that you should watch Inuyasha.(If you haven't already) It is about a girl who is dragged through an ancient well to the futal era. It is very funny, and full of adventure. They have a diversity of characters as well.
