PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION I AM STUCK Okay, so basically when I get older I want to be an author. I am trying to write a book now and have some sort of idea what it is going to be about. BUT... I know a lot of writers don't earn a lot of money at first even if they work really hard. I do have other choices for future careers but being an author would be my dream. I am really stuck. And I know it's a long way away but STILL. Anyway, please answer. Love you all :)

I think writing early will be better, because you can develop what you are writing earlier, which means you can sell it earlier= more money. Never give up on your dreams!

You can't write a good book in a few days. Take your time on it! While you're thinking about this book you want to write, you should be reading books when I say books I mean anything you can get your hands on. Even if its good bad or even the most boring book, it will help open your horizon. Also read about psychology, I know when I say psychology people are like what? why? Well if you read about psychology it will help you connect with your characters! When being able to connect See More with a character you will be able to know every aspect about this character. Every character should have a background only you know about. Read about how to get started on writing a books it is awesome and they have websites you can sign up for. If you don't have a profile with wattpad.com signup for it. People there will read and like your stuff and comment. But with doing that be ready for negative feedback but cherish that it will help you be successful!
While doing all that write down any ideas you have for this book! All of them than in the end when you begin to start writing you can cross off any bad ideas.

i love writing too.. i want to become an author too!! actually i have many dreams and i know i won't be able to achieve them all just sitting here doing nothing so i guess working hard to achieve your dream is the best feeling ever!!! i will definitely write novels, short stories or whatever and become an author but i know doing only that does not mean i'll be as famous as Shakespeare, Jules Verne, JK Rowling, Stephenie Meyer etc.. having a job and writing as part-time is what See More i want to do!! that way i'll be secure (income, job) and i will be an author!! i dont care if i become famous or not as an author but at least someone out there would read and analyze my work and that makes me happy!!

I want to be a writer too! What I'm doing is just writing whatever comes to mind and good ideas and stuff. And instead of just being an author, I want to go to school to become an English teacher. I can teach during the week, and write over the weekend and summer break! That way even if I don't get published right away, I still have a steady income.

If money start out slow then get a part time job at MD or something. I agree with below.
