he can go mach 10- meaning 10 times faster than the speed of sound at full speed, in Super Sonic form he can go 2 time faster than the speed of light, and in Hyper Sonic form he can go 10 TIMES FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHT!!!!!!!

According to comparison between Sonic and Mario, Sonic can't travel the speed of light. In one of his games, with the fastest sonic, he runs the city block from the short side. Comparisons to other characters show his height to be about 3'7".

actually, while that has been assumed: Sonic in his super form can move twice as fast as the speed of light. in his normal form tho, he can move mock 10. whichis ten times the speed of sound. and Mario at top speed can only move at mock 5 or five times the speed of sound. making sonic remarkably faster than Mario.
