If Batman and Superman were to engage in battle, who would be the victor?

Batman. It's not because of I like him (I do) he just chokes him.

I love Batman, but Superman would win in a fight.

My answer is... Superman. If Batman didn't have his gadgets around, (let's say superman ambushed him) he would be defenseless to the powers of superman, which can only be taken away with kryptonite. If Batman didn't have his utility belt (which would hold the kryptonite) Superman's powers would be too much for him to handle. Now the battle also depends on the See More setting, what other characters are around, and if they could tell the other is coming. If Superman was fighting, say, Lex Luther, and Batman attacked, Batman would have the advantage of surprise and Superman would be 1. outnumbered 2. weak from fighting but if Batman were fighting Joker, when Superman attacked, Superman would have the advantage of surprise and have Batman outnumbered and weak. If they agreed to have a fight in an empty place with all their stuff and no villians, kryptonite, etc. anything could happen. But I still think that Superman could pull off the win against Batman in most circumstances.
