Elementism Manifesto

Elementism is a religion which I have come up with. It is the belief in the four main elements - Earth, Fire, Water, and Air - as things to "worship." Technically, we do not worship them, but we do things like find our element, connect with it, and respect the environment. It is a religion that you can have along with another religion, but you don't have to. Anyway, this story will explain the beliefs and practices of Elementism.

Finding Your Element

Elementism seems simple so far, but it isn't actually that easy. To be an Elementary, you must first find your element. Take the quizzes on Qfeast, read stories about elements, or just spend time outside and see which element you feel closest to. To save time, though, I will explain the personalities of the four elements.
Earth is associated with Healing, and it will usually help anyone who is hurt or sick. It is kind, caring, nice, and sweet. Earth is passive, meaning that it doesn't like to argue. In fact, it breaks up arguments. It's very levelheaded and sensible. It usually stands back when others rush in. Earth is stubborn, careful, and doesn't take risks often. It's nurturing and laid-back, too. Its animal is a panda, its color is green, and its gemstone is jade or emerald. Earths usually get along well with those of the Water element, are opposites of those with the Air element, and neutral with those of the Fire element. That means they aren't enemies, but they aren't best friends, either.
Water is associated with Ice. This means that it is sensitive, and when it gets angered, it will flare up and become hard, like ice. Water is also very empathetic and understanding. Its emotions run deep, and its feelings get hurt very easily. They're passive, like Earth, but can also stand up for others, like Air. Waters are sweet, and could be the victim of bullies. They never bully other people unless someone they love is getting hurt. Its color is blue, its animal is a turtle, and its gemstone is a sapphire. Water is good friends with Earth, the opposite of Fire, and neutral with Air.
Fire is associated with Darkness, and it's very short-tempered. They are also aggressive and impatient. They could be a bully, but often don't mean to offend people. They are very passionate and determined, and don't let anything or anyone stand in their way. If someone tries to stop them from getting what they want, Fire mows them right down. They start arguments pretty easily and crave power. Any fight they get into, they expect to win. They also expect everyone to treat them with respect. Some Fires might strike fear in the hearts of others. Its color is red, its animal is a tiger, and its gemstone is a ruby. Fire is good friends with Air, the opposite of Water, and neutral with Earth.
Air is associated with Light, which means they always want to do good deeds. They are very free-spirited and can't stand being told no. They're passionate, impatient, and determined, like Fire, but also very emotional, like water. They can be random and wild at times, but at other times, they are solemn and wise. Airs are usually insightful and provide wisdom when others are joking around. They tend to switch moods very quickly, but they can't make decisions quickly. They change their minds a lot, which makes it frustrating when you try to convince them to do something. Air is also stubborn and cheerful. Its color is silver, its gemstone is a diamond, and its animal is an eagle.

This is a lot like something I made up about a year ago. I like this, but in mine I have more animals and spirits, and stuff for other things. Good job, you have just motivated me to put a story on my Qfest with my version of it. Thx

This is... cool... But... You aren't actually serious about it "being a religion" that you came up with, right? Because it's not true. I do like the idea of the Elements, though, and I think I'd be air. :)

I am serious about it being a religion.

And you wanna know what's not true? An ancient book that contradicts itself is not true!

:) I know.

It's fine. I understand. And I didn't mean to offend you either. :)

OK... Sorry, I guess this is just kind of weird. I've been raised as a Christian, so the whole idea of just inventing a religion based on the elements... I defies my sense of logic so much I think I'm going to explode.

And normally, I'd defend the fact that "the Bible doesn't contradict itself", etc., but I'm actually starting to wonder, so I'm not going to See More
