Elementism Manifesto

Elementism is a religion which I have come up with. It is the belief in the four main elements - Earth, Fire, Water, and Air - as things to "worship." Technically, we do not worship them, but we do things like find our element, connect with it, and respect the environment. It is a religion that you can have along with another religion, but you don't have to. Anyway, this story will explain the beliefs and practices of Elementism.

Elementism Practices

Once you have found your element, you must connect with it. If your element is Earth, some things you can do to get closer with it are climb trees, play hide-and-seek, take a hike, read, or literally stop and smell the roses. You can also do archery or play with animals (but not both at the same time).
If your element is Fire, you can toast marshmallows, tell scary stories, play intense sports, climb rock walls, light campfires, sing, or play board games. Computer games will also work in pinch, but being outside is important.
If your element is Water, go swimming, play Marco-polo, or have a pool party. Maybe have a water gun battle or something like that. Any fun activity involving water will work.
If your element is Air, fly a kite, have a race with someone, run around, watch the clouds, go bird watching, or blow some bubbles. Choose an activity that allows you to get close to the air.
You must spend a significant amount of time each day connecting with your element. If you cannot connect with your element, try to meditate. You also must dedicate time each day to following your heart or doing what you love. If you enjoy reading, spend an hour reading. If sports are your thing, play soccer with your friends. Make sure that your activities are not interfering with other people.

This is a lot like something I made up about a year ago. I like this, but in mine I have more animals and spirits, and stuff for other things. Good job, you have just motivated me to put a story on my Qfest with my version of it. Thx

This is... cool... But... You aren't actually serious about it "being a religion" that you came up with, right? Because it's not true. I do like the idea of the Elements, though, and I think I'd be air. :)

I am serious about it being a religion.

And you wanna know what's not true? An ancient book that contradicts itself is not true!

:) I know.

It's fine. I understand. And I didn't mean to offend you either. :)

OK... Sorry, I guess this is just kind of weird. I've been raised as a Christian, so the whole idea of just inventing a religion based on the elements... I defies my sense of logic so much I think I'm going to explode.

And normally, I'd defend the fact that "the Bible doesn't contradict itself", etc., but I'm actually starting to wonder, so I'm not going to See More
