character introductions
figured this will probably make more sense if i introduce the characters a bit before i actually write anything. (tw for mentions of abuse, suicide, and drug related death, particularly in d-ray and zee’s segments)mitch crieger
a man of decency who has an immense amount of love for his car. he’s of average higher with a slightly stocky build and broad shoulders, and long, curly hair that covers his brown eyes. he wears dirty jeans and a tattered red flannel, with dirty work boots. he’s a pretty tough looking guy and is usually pretty grimy from working on his car, a red convertible he refers to as ‘ol rusty’. it’s an older model, but aside from that he likes to keep it pristine.
beneath his tough exterior, mitch is a kind and simple fella. a little mischievous, but he knows what he wants. his weak point is probably his impulsivity. he doesn’t think things through and sometimes this can get him into some shitty situations.
his family life is nice, he has two younger brothers and lives with his dad and his stepmom in a little house. they aren’t a tight knit family nor are they perfect, but they get by and mitch is happy either way.
d-ray gibson
d-ray is… a character; a total womanizer. he’a charming, handsome, and musically inclined. he’s got shaggy brown hair, sharp blue eyes, and always has this shitfaced smile and usually a few bruises. he’s the lead guitarist for a niche alternative rock band at his high school, so he’s very well known amongst his peers. some people want to sleep with him; some want to be him; and anyone who doesn’t want either of those things is probably scared of him; he’s kind of an asshole, to say the least. he gets in a lot of fights. it’s not his fault he was raised this way. he lives with his dad, and he used to have a brother, but his brother went to a boarding school for the gifted. shortly afterwards his parents divorced. his dad became a heavy drinker and left d-ray to basically fend for himself. one of his defining characteristics is his chipped front tooth, an injury earned in a fight with his dad.
rex van fischer
an awkward and quiet guy, who doesn’t seem to show much emotion. he’s disproportionately tall and lanky, with messy blonde hair that covers his eyes. he’s always slouching and seems to have a slight tremor. he’s almost always listening to music— he’s particularly fond of car seat headrest. there’s not much to be said about rex. d-ray likes to make fun of him for being the most stereotypical virgin ever. it only hurts a little.
his parents are actually immigrants from europe, where his wealthy grandparents still live. his grandpa is a sailor and his grandma is very, very obsessed with the idea of him getting a girlfriend. good luck with that, rex.
zee wilson
kind of the outcast of the group. a short, nerdy young man, with tan skin, curly hair and wire framed glasses, who comes from a sheltered family. he’s lived a sad life. his dad accidentally overdosed on fentanyl when he was seven, with his older sister committed suicide weeks later. he lives alone with his overbearing mother and was formerly involved with the church choir at his old all-boys catholic school.
he’s no longer affiliated with the religion, but most people who don’t know him think he’s some kind of uppity catholic because of his background. he was often picked on for his height, among other reasons, up until he started hanging out with d-ray and his boys.
