Applepaw (Chapter 25)

After the incident with the creeps a few days ago, Cindertuft avoided that spot. She was now looking for herbs. She hadn't got an apprentice yet and she was fine with it. She did miss Longpelt though. She was now in the forest searching for herbs. She then bumped into Brightflame who was training her apprentice, Applepaw. 

"Hey Cindertuft! How've you been?" Brightflame greeted her sister as Cindertuft padded towards them.

"I'm good. How are you and Applepaw doing?" Cindertuft asked as she sat beside Brightflame. 

"We're great!" Applepaw said, smiling brightly with a flirty wink. Cindertuft smiled back at the apprentice, oblivious to his attempt at flirting.

Applepaw was a tom who wasn't much younger than Brightflame and Cindertuft. Applepaw has been an apprentice for a while. It wasn't because he was bad at training. It was because his previous mentors couldn't train him properly and/or couldn't handle being flirted with all the time. Applepaw hoped that Brightflame could train him better than the other mentors he had. Applepaw is also a flirt so Brightflame will usually get pinned by Applepaw from time to time. She's gotten used to it now, but she wondered if he did this to his previous mentors. 

"I was searching for some water mint and cobwebs. Can you two help me find them?" Cindertuft asked Brightflame and Applepaw. 

"Well, we actually—" Brightflame got cut off by Applepaw.

"I'd love to sweet cheeks!" Applepaw said in his flirty voice. He then padded over to Cindertuft and stood in front of her. He was taller than Cindertuft despite being a tad younger. Cindertuft was pretty small so it didn't really surprise anyone. 

"Thanks Applepaw!" Cindertuft smiled at the apprentice. "No problem, Sweetie! I'm the best for this job!" Applepaw said, bragging about something he usually doesn't do. Cindertuft chuckled then limped away to find the herbs. Applepaw followed close behind and Brightflame sighed. She got up and followed the two cats and helped them find the herbs.
