Ask. Me. Anything.

Alley Man

We decide to go home late at night. We don't feel up to walking very far, so we take the shortcut through the alley. When we're in about the middle of the alley, we see a strange man. Just standing there, with a sign. It says "Ask me anything". I find this funny. Usually, people ask about the future, and think he's some kind of psychic. But psychics are frauds, and I know it's a joke, or so I thought.
"Hey can I ask you something?" I smile.
"Ask me anything", he says, expressionless.
I gesture towards my friends and I. "Tell us how we'll all die." I almost laugh.
He looks at Kaylie first. "You had a boyfriend, correct? You broke up today, correct?" The smile that was once there falls from her face and is replaced with fear.
"How..." She starts.
"He will kill you. You broke up with him. He'll get angry and murder you."
He then looks at Anna. "You're gonna die in a car accident. A very, very severe car accident. Just like your mother."
No one, except Kaylie and I, knew about her mother's death from a car accident. How could he have possibly known that?
Finally, he looks at me. He looks me dead in the eyes. I swear, it feels like he's looking right into my soul. "You", he said last. "You will die in an elevator. Once the doors close, the cable will snap. You'll fall from 10 stories."
