My Forever Moment
“He used to be my crush and today he told me he liked me. I told him it would never work out between us. We both came to the conclusion that we too could no longer be friends.”“Why did you tell him that?” Darcy asked, shocked.
“Because I don’t like him anymore. I didn’t think he would ever like me so I got over it and moved on.”
“No I mean about no longer being friends with him. You guys sounded pretty close from what I heard on the phone” he said.
“We were. He just cared about me and I was afraid that if I let him stay in my life that he might distract me from more important things.” I looked up at Darcy.
“Important things?”
“Yeah, like what we have” I said. Darcy’s face flooded with relief. Maybe he had been worried I wasn’t into him.
“I understand. All I am saying is that you might need to reconsider shutting him out completely. I won’t always be around when Jarrod is there. If he cares he might help you even if Jarrod is his friend. You’ll need him” he said.
“Ok, I’ll consider it. Truth or Dare?” I asked.
“Dare.”
“Can I just ask you a question first?” I said.
“Yes, anything” said Darcy.
“If I dared you to kiss me what would you say?”
“About time” he smiled. He leaned in before I could even dared me to and kissed me on the lips. He moved his hands so one was on my neck and the other on my cheek. I could have stayed there kissing Darcy forever, but as everyone knows, nothing lasts forever. We broke apart and Darcy put his back on the grass and laid down beside me. I moved closer to him. His arms around me. I rested my head on his chest. I giggled as I felt his chest move up and down. I felt Darcy’s hand slowly stroke the side of my face. For a second I felt like this moment could last forever. Forever and ever.
