chapter five

i didn't speak on the way to dauntless i was worried about mako.  may had to punch me as hard as she could in the shoulder to get my attention that it was time for me to jump out.
"bye" may said but i just waved and jumped off the train floor onto the roof.  everyone began jumping of the roof doing flips and stuff, i faked a smile and jumped off the ledge landing in the net.   i climbed out and watched other dauntless kids and teenagers jump off and do stunts. One 12 year old girl went head first into the net,and a 15 year old boy got his leg stuck in the net and a 17 year old  boy fell on him giving both of them broken bones.  Nikky soon found me and an excuse to get me in trouble.
"Tapanga what are you doing here you have to do your chores" nikky said giving me a cold icy look.
"whats the big deal about it I'll do it in the evening" i said but Nikky didn't seem to hear, she grabbed my arm and pulled me all the way home.
"dishes now!" Nikky pointed to the small pile of dishes and i looked at them in with wide eyes
"what did you have a party!"
"no just a get together now do 'em" she put the water on and handed the rag to me.  the water burned my scared hands from doing random dares.  i finished the dishes in time for mom to get home.  she was a small woman but was stronger then she looked.  My mom laid down on the couch and smiled picking up a book and began to read.  she had looked from the book to me
"so how was school" she said with a smile
"fine" i said
"i can see it in your eyes you got dauntless" but she was wrong she wasn't a good candor even though that was her born faction
"um ya" i lied "i think i'm gonna go to bed early" i said even though it was 1:30 in the afternoon
"so soon" my mom aksed
"well i think i have some thinking to do" i said quietly walking to my room.
