Torial the goat mom
You smile as you skip up the stairs following the cloaked woman, you knew you could trust her. She's different from Flowey she's...it's as if she has a soul. They do say eyes are the gateway to the soul and her eyes were as clear as day. You finally walk into a room with 6 panels on the floor."Welcome to your new home, innocent one" Torial says gesturing to the room and sharing a kind smile. Her eyes linger on the panels before she turns to you once again. "Allow me to educate you in the operation of the Ruins" Torial then breaks eye contract with you and swiftly walks over four of the panels before a large purple door opens in front of you. Your eyes widen and you smile. Torial beams at you. "The ruins are full of puzzles" She states "Ancient fusions between diversions and doorkeys. One must solve them from room to room. Please adjust yourself to the sight of them"
"Alright..." You look at the panels and the door before nodding. "I see it's a puzzle" Torial giggles before continuing on into the next room. You decide not to follow her yet and look around the room some more. You notice a grey stone slate attacted to the wall with writting carved into it.
"Only the fearless may proceed. Brave ones, foolish ones. Both walk not on the middle road" You read aout loud taking in every word carefully. "So, amd I brave...or foolish?" You ask yourself. You look at the slate before chuckling. "Guess thats for me to find out!" You before running into the next room where Torial is waiting.
Torial smiles as she sees you walk into the room and carries on with her wise lecture.
"To make progress here, you will need to trigger several switches. Do not worry, I have labeled the ones that you need to flip" Torial then lets her faded purple gown flow out behind her as she walks to the end of the room. You watch her walk before deciding to explore the room. You see a wooden sign with muddy papper nailed onto it. You read the paper.
"This is a sign" You blink at the sign and roll your eyes at the writter of this story for being lazy and not thinking of anything good to put on the sign. You walk across a brick bridge and see Torial. You happily run to her, she notices you and gives you a small smile.
"The first switch is over on the wall"
"Huh?" You question before seeing a bright yellow switch labeled with signs saying.
"Press this switch" You giggle sheepishly rubbing your neck.
"Oh...I didn't see it there...heh" With that you walk up to the switch and pull it down. You hear a clanck and turn around to see Torial walking off again. You walk to the next switch and press it. The spikes at the end of the room go down and both you you can go past. Torial claps and you bow making her giggle.
"Splendid!" She exclaims "I am proud of you little one!"
"Yay!"
"Let us move to the next room"
Following Toriel you let her lead you to the next room. She turns back to look at you with a stern but still caring look.
"Being a human in the underground, monsters may attack you"
"Wait, what?"
"You will need to be prepared for this situation" you stare at Toriel in confusion. "However worry not! The process in simple!" You continue to listen to Toriel as she explains to you what to do when you encounter a monster. If you ever encounter a monster, act to stall and Toriel will come to help you. "Practice talking to the dummy" Toriel finishes. You see a two sacks sown on top of each other on a stand. As you get closer you see some fluff sticking out of it and a strange looking face had been drawn onto it. This must be the dummy. You stare at it. Were you actully going to do this? You look at Toriel to see she's watching you will hope filled eyes, it reminds you of a careing mother. You sigh as you look at the dummy.
"So..." You say uncertainly. "Erm, how are you?" The dummy stays silent. It doesn't seem much for conversation. Of course. Toriel claps happily.
"Ah! Very good! You are very good." You look back at Toriel suddenly unsure about coming with her but seeing the happiness she shows warms your heart and you can't help but smile.
"Thanks!" You reply as happy as she is. She then walks out of the room and you follow wondering what the next 'task' shall be.
"There is another puzzle in this room..." Toriel says shifting her eyes just like Flowey did. This made you nervous. "I wonder if you can solve it?"
"T-toriel?" You ask. She turns away and walks into a smaller passage way. You follow behind her unsure of what shes planning. Suddenly a Froggit jumps infront of you. Taken aback you just stare at it. You notice it looks kind of like a frog in the human world. Before you could do anything else Toriel walks over and glares at the froggit in. Noticing this it slowly wonders off and you giggle before following Toriel once again still unsure of what shes planning. You come to a bridge, on the other side is spikes. What in gods name is this goat lady planning?!
"This is the puzzle, but..." She stares at your nervous face and hesitates. "Here, take my hand for a moment" You takes your hand and starts walking across the spikes. You close your eyes as you start walking but not feeling pain you look down and see they are disappearing where you walk. You look up at Toriel with eyes full of shock to see shes looking forward concentrating. She must be keeping you safe, why did you think shes trying to hurt you? As you stop walking she lets go of your head and turns to face you again with her heartwarming smile.
"Puzzles seem a little dangerous for now" She says before once again walking into the next room. Your look of shock slowly subsides into a thrilled grin. You know by this small act of kindness Toriel is harmless, sweet and giving. She was the mum you never had you think as you wonder into the next room.
"You have done excellently thus far, my child" The monster says resting her hands on her purple dress. Her nickname for you makes you grin. "However...I have a difficult request to ask of you" Your grin fades. "..." You're nervous again, but you trust Toriel. "I would like you to walk to the end of the room by yourself. Forgive me for this" She whispers before walking away until you can no longer see her.
"Ouch...rejected" you say to yourself before starting to walk ahead. Vines...vines...vines...vines...vines...wow! More vines!...Vines...vines vi-oh, whats this? You stop to a hault as you see a white piller towering menaceingly in front of you. After a couple of seconds staring you come to the conclusion this thing was somkehow trying to murder you.
"Nope!" You say continuing forwards until a white figure walks out form behind it. "Eep!" You cry jumping back in surprise.
"Greetings, my child" She says gleefully, once noticing your shock she giggles softly. "Do not worry, I did not leave you."
"Gee, thanks" You say steadying your fast heart beat from that jumpscare you had just experianced.
"I was merely behind this pillar the whole time" Torile gestures to the pillar. "Thank you, for trusting me" She says in a voice as sweet as honey. You nod happily.
"Of course, Toriel!"
"However, there was an important reason for this exercise...your test your independance"
"Great! So, did I pass?" Toriel nods.
"I must attend to some business, and you must stay alone for a while. Please remain here. It's dangerous to explore by yourself. I have an idea. I'll give you a cell phone" Your eyes light up. Yes! Score! "If you have a for need anything, just call. Be good, alright?" She says. You nod.
"Yes Toriel! Thank you Toriel!" Toriel smiles at your kind words before once again disappearing into the next room.
So you wait, and wait, and wait some more. Toriel DID tell you not to leave the room...didn't she? After all it was for your own well being! "No" You state firmly. "I will wait here until Toriel comes back!" You say as your feet wonder off into the next room. "Damn it!" You curse before looking down at your legs angrily. "Why must you defiy me?" Looking around the room, the first thing that catches your eye is a pile of leaves on the ground. You run forward and merrily skip though the leaves.
Playfully crinkling though the leaves makes you smile happily. You are ready for the next chapter.
