A Past Memory

A Past Memory Looking at his exhausted demeanor, my thoughts grew curious of how our bond used to be. Flynn appeared to have hurried quickly to stop the cold girl standing across from him. The ritual behind her had a dark magical feeling circling around it. However, the dark concrete covered room was already cold and lonely with only the candles  lighting up the room. Her long black hair sat on her back while her blue eyes looked distance as she pierced at Flynn. Walking up to Flynn, I asked, "Flynn, what is going on?"

No response echoed from his lips. It is like he never heard me say a word. Like, I was not even there. Flynn walked up closer to the girl with his eyes calm and relaxed. "Sage, we need to go home. Get prepared for the battle to come." Flynn said reaching his hand out at her. Did he just call her Sage? Could I really be in that memory he was talking about?

Her arm did not move as she stared at the hand extended towards her. "I can not go with you. The battle, the manhunt will stop once I disappear." Sage answered turning away from him staring at the circle of candles with marks on the ground. Why is she being so cold to him? Flynn was always being to nice to me, so this makes no sense why she is so mean to him.

"Why must you be so stubborn? It will not stop. This was going to happen." Flynn ran his fingers through his dark red hair as he shook his head in disbelief.

"Everything that happened was because of me. Mom's death, your wings, those deaths, and so much more all happened because of me. If I go away, maybe everyone will find peace." She said placing her hand on her neck rubbing her fingers around something. Her black hair hid the object she was clinching tightly.

"Sage, I know that is what you think, but it was all part of a plan. You will see but disappearing is only going to hurt people. You are our leader. Our Red Queen." Flynn said shaking his head. Red Queen? Leader? What did Flynn mean by that?

Turning around, Sage's eyes were filled with anger and regret as she roared, "Red Queen! Did you really think I wanted that? I wanted to protect people not hurt them! Death is all this Red Queen will ever bring! I am no leader. Just a killer." She sure does have a morbid attitude about her. We seem to be so different, so how are we one?

"Sage, you just have to learn to control it. I am sure we can find someone to help you." Flynn tried comforting her with his cool calm words, but she just shrugged him off and stared at the flames.

"Controlling this power is like trying to control fire. Someone can give it something to burn, but if that person continues to shrug it off and give it stuff to burn, the fire will consume everything including that person." Her mind seemed to have drifted off into another world. Walking up to her, I tried figuring out how in the world we were the same. Nothing made sense. Looking at her neck, I noticed a gold necklace with a charm shaped like a heart with a ruby in the middle. The necklace must have been what she was holding on to.

"You are not fire. Maybe you are as hot as fire but no fire." He walked closer to her trying to place his hand on her shoulder, but she just backed away from him. Did she not want him to touch her, or could she be afraid of hurting him? Then, I heard a loud clapping noise as a tan skinned skinny boy stood in front of the door way. His hair was dark shinny blue spiked up as his outfit was full of bright neon colors. The arrangement of different colors almost hurt my eyes as he stared at Flynn and Sage with his golden eyes.

"Well, well. Is the couple fighting?" the blue haired boy chuckled pointing at Flynn and Sage. Sage just stared at him with cold eyes as she shook her head.

"I would not say we are a couple, Draco, but um what is with the new look?" Flynn pointed biting his lip. From the huge smile on his face, Flynn tried not to laugh at the ridiculous neon outfit Draco had on. Still, I could not understand why this guy was even here. What was the point of him being here?

"Are you ready for this warlock?" Sage ordered staring at Draco. Could he have been the guy Kellen and Flynn arguing about taking my memories away? I have to remember his face. When this memory ends, I must find this Draco guy.

"Some one is in a hurry. Do not worry, sweet Sage. The guardians know nothing of this place. You are safe." Draco walked towards the ritual area searching through a book case. "However, I must warn you, Sage. All magic comes with a price."

Staring at Draco, I worried about how this ritual actually worked. A way to revert age and erase memory must take a lot of magic, but Draco seems so calm and relaxed. "She is not safe. She will not do the ritual." Flynn roared grabbing Sage's wrist.

Staring at Flynn, Sage's eyes turned dark red as she slung him against the wall. Flynn's body caused a massive hole in the wall as he laid there in pain. "I am going through with this. When can we begin?" Sage ordered as Flynn grunted in pain. Shaking her head, Sage walked in the middle of the circle as Draco stood inches from her with a book in his hand.

Grabbing a bowl of red liquid, Draco started writing marks on Sage's arms, neck, chest, and forehead. "I always had faith in your mother's wisdom about you. I remember telling her about your power." Draco mentioned writing a mark on his right palm. "Your mother believed you would conquer this power with my help."

"No matter how my mother believed, I will only cause pain unless stopped." Sage coldly said staring straight through Draco like her body was here, but her mind was wondering off some place else. This Draco guy seemed to known so much about me or the old me.

A chuckle emerged from his lips as he exited from the circle and stood across from Sage. "All magic comes with a price. Not only will all your power be gone, but you will revert to a different age wit no memories."

Sage's red eyes widened after he said that. "What do you mean a different age? Draco, you ass! You did not tell me about this." Sage stood up and tried running at him, but when she got to the end, her body ricocheted off the end of the circle to the other side.

"Now. Now, Sage calm down. You are a killer, remember? A killer must be stopped or at least turned into a baby." Draco mentioned opening his book and searching through the pages. Now, I am worried about Draco. The other me did not know the price of locking up my powers. How am I supposed to get my memories back if I can not trust him?

Standing up, Sage's black wings popped out of her back as a red power exploded from her body. "Let me out now!" The old me seemed to have some control over the power unlike me. I guess someone could say I was a newbie, and she was a rookie. The red energy circled inside the ritual as the force field seemed to keep the power inside.

"Useless, my dear. Now, do not resist it, or it will hurt worse than it originally." Draco ordered as an unknown language radiated from his lips. The marks on her body shined in a red tone like the mark on Draco's blame as her wings fierce fully pulled back into her body. A sharp scream came from her lips as she laid on her back in pain. The strange language still radiated from Draco's lips as Sage laid on the floor screaming in pain. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Flynn dragging his body to Sage.

Suddenly, all the candles in the room blew out, and a baby's cry roared through out the room. I tried walking to the noise when I felt my ears in pain over the crying. With a clap of some hands, lights from the ceiling turned on as I looked down to see a white haired baby girl crying. In front of me, Flynn grabbed Sage's shirt and wrapped around the baby as I saw him pick her up. Anger radiated in his red eyes as he stared at Draco. "How could you do this?" Flynn roared rocking Sage to calm her down. Flynn seemed to be so caring towards to baby Sage, but come to think of it, her hair was like mine before that night. Could everything Flynn have said finally make sense?

"She wanted her powers to be locked up." Draco mentioned as blood ran down from his nose. "That amount of magic could kill even a two hundred year old warlock like myself. Her power was too strong to get locked up. Turning her into a baby was easy, but the force field is why I am bleeding. One blast from her power almost killed me. Now, let me finish." Draco added walking towards Flynn and the baby Sage.

Pulling the baby Sage close to him, Flynn roared, "I will not let you hurt her anymore! Now, change her back."

Shaking his head, Draco stood in front of Flynn with his golden eyes dim. Sage's attack did not even seem to break the shield, but Draco seems so weak now. "Did you not hear her, moron? She did not want this power. Now, imagine a scared girl seeing dead bodies around her over an upsetting experience. Give her a chance to live a normal human life. Away from the angel war. She would finally be happy." Draco mentioned reaching down on the ground and picking up the necklace that was around Sage's neck. Handing it to Flynn, he smirked, "I know a family of fairies who would love to have her as their child. She will be taken care of. Better yet, she will be safe."

Flynn looked down at Sage as she stopped crying and opened her purple eyes. A smile curved from her lips as her little pale fingers reached for Flynn. With his free hand, Flynn rubbed his large fingers against her cheek. Then, she grabbed his finger with her small hands clinching tightly to his finger. His red eyes opened widely as his pale skin turned bright red. I saw something different in his eyes. I could not understand what it was or how he felt, but seeing him hold her well me in his arms, I finally realized how real this experience is.

"Fine." Flynn answered grabbing the necklace. "Under one condition, I will go with you to the fairy family, I will be allowed visiting hours, and you will show me how to bring her powers back when the time is ready."

A smile curved on Draco's face as he stood over the baby Sage. "That is three conditions, but I will agree to them. Now, I must finish the ritual." Draco placed his finger on the forehead of the baby Sage while he cited another unknown language . A red light spiked through her forehead and then disappeared like it was never there. Her purple eyes closed as her head nuzzled against Flynn's chest.

"Now, warlock, explain to me why her appearance changed? Hardly makes any sense." Flynn asked holding the baby Sage tightly to him as she held his finger.

Draco scratched his head and followed Flynn answering, "Dark angels are unknown to any of us. So far, she is the only one recorded. Her altered appearance could instruct something unknown to any of us. As far as I know, her appearance might change when her memories come back."

"Why would her memories cause another appearance change?" Flynn asked as the baby Sage made noises of laughter.

"Well, she will come to me for the memories of course. I will basically be joining together two people into one. That means either they will bond together perfectly, or one will beat the other. Like I said before, dark angels are not anyone's specialty." Draco commented. Joining together two people? Does that mean if both of us do not bond together, I would not be me any more? I would be the cold hearted fighter who thought turning into me was the right choice. Reality has finally set in.

Everything turned black again as I felt my blue eyes open into a room with Flynn sitting besides me shirtless. Everything that happened was just a memory. Something Flynn treasured in his memories. I had to experience the same memory in my own way. Even though Draco is not to be trusted, I must get my memory back, and Draco knows how.

"Well, what did you see?" Flynn eagerly asked as he stared at me. I looked at him with a slight grin. The way he held the baby me like he wanted to protect me more than anyone else. I only wanted to run away from all this angel stuff. Now, I want to know more. I must see Draco, my family at home, and so much more to understand more about who I am.

Looking at Flynn, I stared at him with such seriousness as I said, "I saw that day that turned me into who I am now. Take me to see Draco."
